I picked it up again during the previous arc's climax, and it was going well up until last chapter: something about the villain's "big plan" is rubbing me off and I'm contemplating dropping it for good.

If you like Shin, you'd probably like it. There's Shin & Heisuke training arc + his flashback with Sakamoto. The latest turn of events kinda feels like final arc setup, and I'm all for it.
