I don't know if i've ever really seen a character like shin that function so well as a secondary protagonist and who has such well paced and legitimate growth as a character.

Almost everything he gets feels earned. I wish the series had focused a little more on other characters like Lu and even Apart, because when characters in this series get serious investment, they really grow in interesting and unique ways.

One of my only big criticisms of the series is I feel like apart from Shin and Heisuke, the main protagonist don't actually have that much character development, and it usually comes from the villains and the Order.

It's weird how shin is written so well and the other protagonists at times just have almost no character development. Never really seen anything like it in a series. I think it's the only thing that's holding it back from being a certified classic.

Like, you can argue that Hard Boiled has gotten a lot more character development than Sakamoto. That's kind of ridiculous.
