"If there was any small victory achieved by the Qin army in Hango, it was the release of Heki and the few dozen men under him who've been imprisoned for a year. For they had lost in every aspect of the battle"

I for one am looking forward to Heki's comeback battle

Gotta say "underestimating Riboku" should absolutely not be a thing at this point after everything

How in the world could you underestimate the fella that's responsible for the deaths of 3 of your best generals and countless other higher ranking fellas

Sou’ou is delusional here tbh. Ousen was stomped here without a doubt. He has to rebuild his whole army now that all of his generals have retired. HSU and YTW retreating without suffering many casualties is really incredible. They are almost into Qin’s borders. So the battle is over.

This Ousen army rebuild masking all his previous faults will be one for ages. He’s surely getting two, three martial mega powers for his army. Not killing Ousen here is maybe Riboku and SBS’s mistake.

But how did Ouhon catchup to Ousen before SBS? Weird way to end the battle.

Sou'ou probably has to take care of something related to Shiryuu or her family, possibly a sibling. Anyway, I have mixed feelings about Hango. I like the smaller battles that transpired: Akou vs Gakushou, Ji Aga/Kan Saro vs Shiryuu/Den Rimi's vassals, the climax where SBS reaches the hq and kills Akou was great, even Akakin coming to the rescue was a cool moment. What I didn't like was how everything outside of the centre was pointless, why include YTW if she wasn't going to do anything? Shin/Ouhon also had no direction during this arc, Shin falling for Riboku's trap was genuinely disappointing.

Overall, not the worst arc but it doesn't live up to it's fullest potential, hopefully the next battle will be a bit better.

The only thing that disappointed me is that we didn't see Ouhon/Shin fighting Jiaga/SBS. Sometimes you just get your ass kicked, so a short arc ending in defeat is ok.

Thinking about Sou’ou quote, Ousen has been in direct battle once before (Shukai plains). In Sanyou, he built a big fort and concentrated on defense, complex bait and kill scenario in coalition army arc and even in the last arc his army lost a lot of men in direct castle siege scenario. Maybe what he’s saying is somewhat true lol.

A GG shouldn’t have this kind of a glaring weakness. Facing a head on battle is a basic requirement? But this weakness quote is more believable when compared to Kanki’s.

He's not talking purely about direct battle
Sou'Ou put an emphasis on complex warfare, and Ousen already showcased more than once
In Shukai his left wing only had 5k, and then he followed it with 3 waves attacks + the HSU killing stroke
This battle he had the 30k HSU tackle the 70k Zhao wing, with Ouhon in the middle ready to disrupt the battle
And in a head on clash with the Riboku army, Ousen's tactics thrived with chaos
