Characters That Can Permanently Kill Gerard

A recent interview with Kubo does show there is a weakness to Gerard’s Miracle.

When Gerard was cut in half by Zaraki Kenpachi's Bankai, something similar to a Quincy Cross came flying out of his head. Would it be correct to assume that it was Gerard's core and that had it been destroyed, Gerard would have been defeated?

With this weakness in mind, name characters that previously couldn’t be argued to kill Gerard but now have a means to do so.

Standard combat scenario otherwise so they still have to be able to actually fight him too.

Exactly the case. His core is his most durable part of him You need more power than Bankai Kenpachi to beat him.

This is basically Kubo explaining why Yhwach didn’t just sick Gerard on Ichigo who’s just raw power himself. Before this, there wasn’t a conceivable way for Ichigo to be argued to put down Gerard from just spamming Getsugas all day

Also explains why Lille Barro is the leader of the Elite Sternritter. If he and Gerard ever got into a hypothetical fight, X-Axis is a perfect means for taking out his core.

I’m sure accelerator could destroy Gerard after all he still holds the number one esper spot after all.

He knows the human body very well to the point that he killed one of Misaka clones in a brutal fashion.

It looks like this core will come into play in the anime as Shinji will be involved as well. Question is if this core has anything to do with him being the heart of the SK as well.

Even with this it’s hard to say he still isn’t towards the top of the Sternritters, Kubo even implies here that Bankai Kenpachi probably was not able to destroy the core and Bankai Kenpachi is only outmatched by Yhwach, Ichigo, Aizen, and the likes. Though this makes it arguable if Gerard is stronger than say Lille, match up wise Lille matches him too well with this info.

Nah. Ulquiorra is not strong enough, he would end up being a sideline contributor much like Byakuya. And Barragan much the same, even though his hax could potentially play a factor in a handicap match, he simply lacks the power to match up to Gerard 1v1 who survived an assault from Bankai Kenpachi.

I don’t believe broken bankai Ichigo is stronger than Yamamoto. And yeah, Aizen is stronger but he’s AP isn’t as destructive as Captain imo.

As broke as it was it still one shotted Yhwach essentially. Yamamoto is not even as strong as HoS Ichigo, no good reason why Bankai Ichigo doesn’t one shot.

Toshiro had power-nulling ice and that didn't seem to affect him. I doubt Spatial manipulation/erasure would work. Also fuckin Kubo and his vague answer, how high do ur stats have to be to actually destroy the core? He still gets stronger, bigger, and faster after taking damage, and he ended up being made of pure light near the end. Wouldn't the stat requirement to destroy the core increase as Gerard takes more damage?

It's not just better stats. Gerard still converts damage into power, size, and speed. So it's not just having more stats than him that would break it. It also explains why Yhwach was able to drain Gerard since it's not just a stat diff.
