Both ZORO and LAW were out in 1010, Law could even continue in 1011 after his loss to KAIDO, but ZORO doesn't, ZORO is in need of a holy medicine to be able to fight again.
But still, KAIDO beat LAW in 1010, and LAW only got up in 1011, to recover. In the same way that VERGO beat SMOKER, and SMOKER only got up in 691. Even though SMOKER and LAW are doing well 1 chapter later, in 1010 and 690, both were defeated.

There is no longer any reason for LAW and ZORO to keep fighting KAIDO, because Luffy asked for it.
But what I'm trying to convey to you is that ZORO and LAW were defeated by KAIDO.
They were neutralized for X time.
This is enough time for KAIDO to kill them if not for Luffy, just as SMOKER was neutralized and incapacitated by VERGO, and would have been killed if not for LAW.
Law could even fight again in the next chapter with KAIDO after his defeat to the same.
Luffy did this, he was defeated by KAIDO in 1009 and recovered in 1010, 1 chapter later.
ZORO was no longer in a position to fight even if LUFFY didn't order it.
ZORO even after medical treatment still requires a magic medicine to fight.
So the message I wanted to convey is that LAW even after being defeated by kaido temporarily could fight KAIDO even after his defeat in 1010, but ZORO could not. Understood?

Zoro won't necessarily take the sidelines. Let's see what happens.
Don't forget that Luffy spelled 'I got this' only after Zoro was done for. But earlier they were taking on him together.
I can see this to still be a matter of honor eventually, but perhaps Zoro shall be the one to go and save Yamato before Luffy does, or Luffy himself. The odds are not so great, the ZKK ones look much greater, substantially greater.
