Shanks himself told the audience he was impressed by luffy cause he had the same dream as roger btw., word for word
But maybe in 2 pieces where gaban would never appear he impressed shanks with his willpower of the child doing child things
Sanji fans aren't making a positive argument for him getting it, just appealing to whataboutism and mocking people trying to conceptualize, what is an extremely vague power system
I think folks mixed up having strong willpower and conviction with never ever having doubts or hesitation but Oda never described CoC like that. Sanji told Zoro to give up his ambitions but Sanji himself was willing to die as a kid to find the All Blue. It's either hypocrisy or he lost his way but regardless, Zeff quite literally spells it out that Sanji's been stifling his own conviction for Zeff's sake as opposed to going out to sea. The Zoro/Sanji moment in conjuction with Zeff's words comparing Luffy and Sanji's wills just reaffirmed Oda was highlighting Sanji's conviction. Now Oda is simply following through.
