In chapter 957, Teach’s bounty was still little over 2 billion.

Yet by chapter 1059, his bounty is nearly 4 billion. So far, we have absolutely no idea where this bounty raise came from.

My theory? Teach ate a 3rd DF in an unrevealed exploit that occurred before the Captain Koby incident.

I feel like Teach needs something up his sleeve. His fight with Law didn’t really give him the best portrayal and if he doesn’t have anything else, I worry how he could be a compelling rival to Luffy.

Still, his bounty gives me hope.

The bounty increase was from having Kuzan as his subordinate now.

Just took the World Government until post-reverie to update the bounty.

Though it's still unclear whether the bounty updates we saw happened after those events or before those events. For example, the entire thing was meant to catch the warlords by surprise. It wouldn't make much sense if the WG updated their bounties first and then send out the Marines.

Likelihood is Oda wanted to showcase Boa and Teach's recent bounties and decided to show em when they confront each other. So, personally I don't think Teach had that 3.9 bil bounty before the Boa confrontation and same for Boa.. since they would then have to update it again if any of the warlords fucked up the Marine fleets. All bounties for the warlord + Teach were given after the marine fleets succeeded or were defeated.

Pretty sure his third DF will be Orochi's. Don't think he had an agent already infiltrate Wano. I still think Shiryu will go there soon.

It could be a very plot twist to have him lose decisively to somebody and then reveal it and wipe the field. But I don't see or recall Oda doing this kind of plot twists.
