Well, he was Kaido’s underling so…the only way for Doffy to redeem himself is to expose and give Croc all the dirt he has on Celestial Dragon like when he said if everyone knows about the national treasure in Mariejois (could be ancient weapon?), it will shake the world.

Same with how Crocodile redeemed himself when he helped Luffy in Impel Down and Marineford.

I just wanna see his Enel face when Mihawk and Crocodile said Buggy is a Yonko.

Doffy doesn't have a better option at the moment.Crossguild would be also the easiest way for him to build up influence and stuff.

Doffy, the former underworld broker, will make a deal with Imu and Crocodile. He will bring Crossguild to the WG's side, to return to Maryjoa. He is the only one that knows the two well and can put himself into their shoes.

Croc is the Doffy of the old world, a mini Doffy, if you will, in theme and plan.
And if Croc went on to start CG and put out bounties on Marines, what's the same idea on a macro scale that Doffy might follow in with? Hunting down Celestian Dragons?
