hancock isn't joining cross guild and if she needs protection for island why can't she have luffy do it i swear ya'll act like cross guild is only her fucking option to chose and not luffy give me one reason why she has to chose them than allying with luffy

Of course she could ally herself with Luffy but I guess she might reason she wants to lessen the burden on Luffy, not increase it. She would also increase the target on her back if say BB or the Marines know they can get to Luffy by kidnappning Hancock.

That's the thing - Rayleigh can't.

- Ray has stayed undercover since his prime. He can't handle fleets after fleets of Marines, sooner or later his stamina depletes.

- Ray could barely protect the Strawhats against Kizaru. With Kuma and Sentoumaru as well he was unable to protect them two years ago.

- Ray could barely protect Hancock by using his reputation and experience. He can't win against BB one vs one even if he can put up a fight, imagine how badly he would fare against 3-4 of BBs crew. They don't fight fair.

This is no knock on Rayleigh, he is one of my favourite characters in the series. Not a knock on Hancock either, she has proven that she is one of the strongest women in the series. Judging by her portrayal and her bounty she is probably around Marco, King or even slightly above as a very capable YC1

She is definitely below admirals and Yonko but above most pirates. YC1 +/-

Hyped by many characters: being hype by characters means nothing if you ain't allowed to live up to it
Put up a fight against BB pirates but not BB himself: yeah putting up a fight against fodders and being an helpless fodder against the yonkou without chance to fight

They might potentially also recruit unaffiliated Supernova who at this moment lack a clear role in the war.

If it comes into fruition I would at the moment rank them as a Yonko crew, above Big Mom and Beast Pirates, perhaps on par with Red hair and Blackbeard.

Almost a year since I started this thread. I see it lining up more clearly by the day. Cross Guild will become a serious contender for the One Piece and allow a lot of loose ends to be tied up in one giant knot. For example

- Mihawk fighting Shanks and/or Zoro for WSS
- Give meaning to the remaining Shichibukai and Supernova that otherwise would just sail around aimlessly
- Truly make the end war a battle of the best
- Grant us some epic Buggy dialogue

It's genius in a way. Any odd character that is popular but currently lacks a crew can be fitted in to Cross Guild, they are essentially consultants running their private franchise companies under the banner of Cross Guild. Say Vista or Katakuri wants to keep pirating but lack the crews for it - join up with Cross Guild. Fujitora defects or Magellan wants revenge - join up with Cross Guild. With Buggy as "boss" none of them need to fear their "captain" or follow a certain code, they are free to do as they like as long as a percentage of their loot and the reputation goes to Cross Guild. Very similar to how Shichibukai worked but in a larger scale.

Luffy Shithawk ain't anywhere near Yonko level.
Luffy, Shanks or even BB solos this entire fodder bum clown crew. Luffy/Shanks 1 shot Fraudhawk in the same way they one shotted Kizaru/Kid+Killer.

Only reason I think otherwise is because. Too many CoC users.

Too many CoC in a single place leads in fighting. They will be their own demise.

You are right. They will have several flaws. But it would be very fun to watch while it lasts. Their downfall

- A joke of a leader that nobody of the strong ones follows
- Different goals. Some aim for fame, others money, some for power
- There will be in house fighting. Croc and Doffy are at best rivals. Law (if he joins) hates Doffys guts.
- The one that could actually lead them - Mihawk - is a lone wolf that lacks ambition that matches the members desires. Very similar to Whitebeard post Rocks that created a family and mostly went on to live in peace with hardly any CoC users.
- Their team work will be bad

Essentially, they will be like Rocks Crew or Real Madrid Galacticos 2000-2005. A group of the strongest individuals but not a proper crew. It's enough to beat most just on the basis of their overall qualities whether it be power, strategy or money but it won't end well one way or another.

(A part of me wants Xebec to be almost as strong as Imu, another that he was that eras Buggy).
