For those who believe Doffy will be a Cross Guild recruit. When first locked up, he asks why Magellan is guarding him and makes an assumption that the Celestial Dragons are sending their assassins from "up there". Some assumed cipher pol, but apparently they have their holy knights.

(Im not too keen on the knights being that powerful since Doflamingo told law this



Doffy is strong, but not too strong to be killed. Maybe oda will explain this.)

And this chapter it was revealed that 8 kingdoms successfully rebelled against the Celestial Dragons. But lulusia was destroyed leaving only 7.

I think while 7 of the knights go quell the rebellions, either the remaining two will go to kill doffy or only one goes and oda keeps the final ones identity a secret(silhouette piece).

Thats where cross guild comes in if the wish to free doffy. They will have to fight magellen and a holy knight. Mihawk vs a knight and croc vs Magellan and buggy vs hannybal while simultaneously working his charms on doffy as he frees him.

Sidenote:

Why would Magellan be protecting doffy from celestial dragons assassins? Dont the CD sign the paychecks of the people signing Magellans paycheck?

maybe doffy is already dead or free. Maybe cipher pol did go to doflamingo. Earlier in egghead we see this



Cp0 are returning s-bear. Where are they returning from?

Only reason i think its legit is because doflamingo knows about their "treasure" and thats a death sentence. They tried to kill him before but once they realized they couldn't, they allowed him to be a CD again.

But now, he's neatly packaged in a cell. Much easier to kill.

I can definitvely see something like this happening too. The secret that Doflaingo has would be the key to give the Crossguild the upper hand they need to join the final race for the One Piece, at the same time, Doflaingo would have to be protected by the CrossGuild, which would have the Gorosei to put a big target on their heads, giving them the relevance they need, so they will not be a random yonkou crew created by chance. Doffy at first would really want to rejoin the Heavenly Dragons, but by the time present, he has so much hatred against the Gorosei that he would gladly join the Crossguild only to see the world burning, and he would finally work together with Crocodile, since it was hinted from Marineford.
Edit: At Impel Down Arc we learned about a man named Roche Thomson, an archeologist that was arrested and might have been released when Luffy stormed Impel Down, or, if the Cross Guild storms Impel Down to free Mingo, he will likely be freed as well and will join them. Buggy is knowin for being too lucky and these two additions to the crew would make of them grea candidates for the One Piece.

Not only Doflamingo, but now Weevil and potentially Fujitora
