The main point of this argument is "Luffy transformed into Gear 4 then the string snapped" ignoring the position of Luffy's arms before and after the string snapped.

Look at Luffy's arms position before and after he transformed into Gear 4.

Before Gear 4 and after Gear 4

The problem with "Luffy transformed to Gear 4 then the string snapped" is when did Luffy arms switch position? Did they switch before or after Luffy transformed into Gear 4?

1. If they switched before Luffy transformed into Gear 4:
that means in base form, the arms already switched position. That means base Luffy's physical strength is significantly above Jozu.

2. If they switched after Luffy transformed into Gear 4:
that means after Luffy transformed into Gear 4, he switched his arms position into wide outstretched flexed position. Thus debunking Luffy transformed into Gear 4 then the string snapped since the sequence of actions is Luffy transformed into Gear 4 -> arms switched position -> the string snapped.

The anime even confirms the string didn't snap when Luffy transformed into Gear 4 but they snapped after Luffy transformed then moved his arms to break the string and finally the string snapped.
