He whined about the limitation he had faced while using his destructive DF with CDs around, if he used his so called Kokuto swordsmanship against a YC 7 Morley would have made it easy to beat him without hurting CDs or any mf right there.
We are talking about someone who forged a black blade and Kuina's father said the peak of swordsmanship is when you cut what you want to cut.

He was the one who warned Fujitora to not send his meteors on Marijeoise.
He was the one who planned to catch the alliance while they were weakened from the fight against Kaido - BM.
He was the one to choose to withdraw back when Shanks crew came knowing that it would have never helped him.
Etc....
2. Oda isn´t necessarily the smartest about having his characters use all their powers when it would be the most convinient
We are talking about moments where characters should have shown their power / skills when they are needed yet you have :
1/ GB saying he's a Forest man instead of a swordsman.
2/ Any of the swordsmen that we have Oda drawing them in their childhood, they have swords in their hands yet Child GB didn't have one.
3/ He didn't use his swordmanship in any major fight even against Fujitora where Oda would have drawn him with a sword yet he didn't instead we get to see his Vines.
4/ Against Morley, his swordsmanship would have solved the issue quite easily without hurting anyone yet he left himself struggling with CDs threatening him to get death sentence if they were hurt.
Etc....
3. Aramakis plan was by no means bad, he was just dealing with

Oni Giri would have one shotted Morley without killing him and No CDs would be hurt and no damage to the buildings.
Simple solution and great efficiency.

They were fighting seriously to the point Oda drew them getting hurt, and even GB was mad cuz Fujitora was helping slaves which goes against Aramaki's principles( his famous speech : you have No Rights ) which ended in a fight between them but Oda drew GB with vines and no swordsmanship is shown again and let me remind you, Oda drew Xebec 4 years ago with a sword in his hardest fight against Garp and Roger in the background and if GB is one, he would have been treated in a similar way.
