A pair of wings is not the same as something rare as blackblades. You cant seriously believe that nobody asked Oda about Aramaki's sword since it wasnt clear in the manga.
You’re right, the color of a pair of wings should be so impossibly difficult to fuck up, while Ryokugyu’s blade for example would be much harder to actually get right given a lot of people disagree on what it even is in the manga. Lol

Adding this to the OP. The agenda isn’t dead until Oda kills it. Lol

@BaboonMihawk pointed out in his thread that Aramaki Gennai, the main character from Ronin Gai of which Ryokugyu is based off of, was rumored to be a superb swordsman, but no one had ever seen his sword skill before with the exception of his lover.

This would seem to matchup with Ryokugyu who appears to be a swordsman but has yet to reveal his skill with the blade.

And by drawing Ryokugyu with a black blade, Oda could be referencing Aramaki’s hidden extreme prowess with the blade.

For the exact same reasons he could have corrected in the volume. He didn't :kayneshrug:

Now we'll see in the manga of the next time he appears the sword Is still black or not I suppose.
