Many people are saying that zoro will overtake luffy next time since "gap" between them is closer than ever, which is absolutely false.

Debunking the myth that gap has never been closer. And for people who are gonna make excuse by saying that gap we were talking about was about only Japan. Gap isnt even closer than "ever" in Japan only too. 2nd Popularity poll was much closer than now.

Next time Gap between Luffy and Zoro will further increase

Facts would be that if you’re going to compare popularity poll results, comparing Japan vs worldwide is retarded. This time in Japan, Zoro had 1.7% fewer votes than Luffy. That’s a tiny difference especially compared to the 6th popularity poll. And this is with Zoro having less than half Luffy’s panel time. I can understand why you’re terrified.

Yeah doesn't help that Sanji fans jumped ship just to ensure that Zoro wouldn't end up on the no 1 spot. That's why he came fourth lmfao.

Don't worry though, after Wano Sanji fans won't exsist.

Reality is people take this shit too seriously like die hard sanjifans new Sanji is hopeless so they voted for Luffy just in pettiness that Zoro doesn't won.

Zoro is Top 2 in almost All Regions of the World, Luffy is not (As for Oceania where they were Far, Zoro was still more than Luffy)
Only reason Luffy got 1st Place is because of Asia & stop relying on these Numbers

Each Person was able to Vote multiple times, dozens of times to be accurate which means the difference between Luffy & Zoro is much much smaller than you think. Just do some simple Math

If for example Today, Luffy got 50 more Votes than Zoro, tomorrow it will become 100 & after tomorrow 150 & then 200 ... etc
So what you're looking at is the Total of Everyone's Multiple Votes, but if we count One Vote per Person then the difference between Luffy & Zoro becomes obviously much much smaller.

If you want more Accuracy, let's assume Luffy Fans only Voted Luffy & Zoro Fans only voted Zoro. Difference between them is about 200K & Votes lasted for about 60 Days. That means 200K / 60 = 3333 !!!

In other words, if each Voter had only 1 Count, difference between Luffy & Zoro is only a mere around 3000 Voters & do you know how many Voted? They said around 12 Million & if we split that by 60 Days too, we get 200K Voters.
3K Voters compared to 200K is merely 1.5% !!!

And do you know what else you should consider? Japan Votes Count for 10! And you just showed us that in Japan Luffy is always Voted Most. In 6th Popularity Poll, we have difference of 1K Voters between Luffy & Zoro. Assuming that Number stayed the same & didn't increase which most probably what happened, that means if we count fairly, then difference between Luffy & Zoro's Total Votes should be further decrease by 9K which makes it further decrease if we count only 1 Vote per Person.

This is only to show you that difference between Luffy & Zoro is merely 1%.
As for why Luffy won in first place, it's very simple:

People were allowed to Vote on Multiple Characters (Up to 57 Characters) & the calculations i did above are based on the assumption that Luffy Fans & Zoro Fans voted only on those Two. But they obviously didn't, at least not all. Many People voted for their Top 5 instead & some voted for their Top 10 & some for their Top 20 & some even reached 57. So to check how Voters changed between Characters, we must verify how Characters were distributed across Regions & as i said before, we found that Zoro is Top 2 in almost all of them meaning Zoro is a Character that Majority of The World voted on even if only Once !!

But Luffy on the other hand surpassed Zoro mostly thanks to Asia which means the only way that Luffy was able to get more Votes was because his Same Fans Voted more multiple times on him than Same Zoro Fans voted multiple times on him.

This is also proven by the fact that even Voters have a Ranking of their own but this Voting System doesn't necessarily take that into consideration, so you find most Voters who voted for +10 Characters, they most probably chosen both Luffy & Zoro, but what if The Popularity Poll only asked them to choose One Character who is their Favorite? Then they will end up having to choose either Luffy or Zoro & seeing how Most the World prefers Zoro, it's obvious the Votes would lean toward him even more.

Zoro's Balanced Popularity Distribution across the World Regions & Tiny Difference between him & Luffy + The Multiple Votes Rule + Japan x10 Rule proves to us that Zoro is the Real Most Popular One Piece Character counting only 1 Vote per Fan. And even if you ignore all of these Facts & keep saying Luffy won & u don't care bla bla bla. Then it still doesn't change the fact that Luffy won by merely 1%

Japan votes won't count for 10....web votes count for 10 and most of them from Japan...and why do you assume that same Zoro fans voted multiple times than same votes for Luffy....just because Luffy got more votes in Asia?...I mean same could be said for Zoro given how Zoro remained in top 2 and how is that possible without repeating votes? and if you look at mid term either Zoro or Luffy in second place but in second half that was not the case Luffy and Zoro slipped while Luffy slipped below 3 in some regions ....so going by that isn't it Luffy who got voted only once for majority of the times/....and why do you think the most prefers Zoro when only one vote is allowed?.......
