Him exposing himself that early finished off his character and existence. He could had a more interesting, and meaningful, role by keeping himself hidden and do anything relevant during Onigashima.

P.D: there still chance to see him doing smth with Hiyori and the Orochi plot I guess.

By slay, you mean what he already did before?

I think he might just be hiding in the shadows and waiting to kill Orochi in case he harms Hiyori

Since onigashima is full of Water is not good for DF users so i don't think he will be involve in hiyori's plot maybe he has another plans like the remain cp0 since they want to take wano

Only useful things he made are:
- Cutting a battleship
- Temporarily immobilizing Sasaki
- Taking Kaido's first round (Dragon) with the Scabbard and forcing him to base, only to be totally bodied after that
Mans MIA since 35/40 chapters, probably the only relevant character on the island with such rate...

He was Orochi's bodyguard and obeyed his orders for 20 years, having a major role in his takedown should be a given imo
But in that case Oda better give a reasonable reason to his disappearence
If he doesn't even come back with a clutch then he's totally gone
