Remember when he and Killer ran into Hawkins? HAWKINS SAID HIS CHANCES OF BEATING THEM BOTH WAS SLIM! SLIM! Meaning his chances of losing weren’t zero even in a 2v1 that includes a “nigh yonko” level being. Law fodderized Hawkins. And the strawman was only a slight inconvenience to a fleeing Zoro who couldn’t stick around for an actual fight.
