Things are quite obviously different.

If it’s a huge chunk of the Big Mom Pirates that arrive, it’s not a solo Kaido vs Big Mom effort. It’s Kaido vs Big Mom, King vs Smoothie, Queen or Jack are sprinting over to join in, so are the Flying Six.

Kaido vs Big Mom lasted for hours. You think King vs Smoothie is? King’s tearing chunks out of her. She’s dead in minutes, she’s not anywhere near as strong as Marco or Zoro. That’s repeated all over while Kaido and Big Mom are having their hours long fight. Kaido and Big Mom have reason to be somewhat friendly rivals fighting with each other. Their crews don’t. This is not the cheerful friendly Roger Pirates vs Whitebeard Pirates fight, this is two psycho crews going at each other. Even if Kaido and Big Mom agree to a stalemate after a few hours, by then there will have been serious casualties.

Then who knows what the Alliance decide to do in the middle of all this.

It’s a terrible take to say if King doesn’t intervene they just form a happy alliance.

You're assuming Kaido and Big Mom would let all of that happen

Unless the setting changes there's no reason why they can't interfere. Not to mention that King/Queen/Jack/The Rest probably won't take drastic action like that without Kaido's say-so

Queen didn't kill Big Mom when given the chance. He brought her straight to Kaido instead

King/Queen didn't kill the Scabbards in the past. They were left alive, captured, and brought to Kaido/Orochi

I have little reason to believe they'd outright kill each other

Lol what? King prevented both forces from being prematurely depleted. If the BMP landed then, war breaks out and people are dying.

The BMP could not get up the waterfall in two weeks time and for some reason Kaido didn’t tell them about the official port. All in all it’s mostly their own fault they couldn’t participate in Onigashima.

Not really especially since they were pleasures, they had no Use
Also if chopper wasnt there, queen would've killed like 2K samurais which are really important and kill 2K pleasures who didnt hold ANY value for kaido or all stars
