Oda offscreened both Carrot and Yamato's goodbyes to the crew, with Carrot getting nothing but an anime only scene, and Yamato getting a flashback after Wano officially ended.

Honestly?

I think Zoro already visited Ryuma's Grave, but Oda didn't show us it, and that we'll get that flashback when we go back to Wano.

If the Blackbeard Pirates invade Wano, we could see Shiryu stealing Shusui from Ryuma's grave. When Zoro learns of this, we might get a brief flashback of him visiting the grave. It would also set up their duel in a way that goes beyond typical No. 2 vs. No. 2 match-ups. Zoro would fight Shiryu to reclaim and return his former blade to Wano.

Why exactly would Shiryu do that though?

I'm not sure about Shiryu wanting it as a trophy... Blackbeard trying to sell Shusui on the black market could actually low-key be a hilarious way for Tashigi and Zoro to reunite in Wano, though.

The sword is legit worldwide famous, it would go for a lot.

I need Tashigi and Zoro doing shit in Wano, man.

Zoro has heard from Kin'emon, Onimaru, and Hiyori that Shusui is the national and sacred treasure of Wano and that it rightfully belongs there. He has also learned that its theft is believed to have incurred a curse. While Zoro doesn't believe in the wrath of the gods, he knows that Wano's people do. Kawamatsu and Hyogoro had an entire conversation about how fate is at work in Zoro returning the blade. And if he did visit Ryuma's grave, as he said he would, I'm sure there will be some sentiment motivating him to reclaim it.

Yeah, Shiryu stealing Shusui would be a good way to bring Tashigi back into Zoro's character arc.

Wado Ichimonji was worth at least 10 million, which became not a lot as the story progressed. However, Shusui being 1 of only 2 known Black Blades could be worth far more.

Sorry I meant Shiryu. Why would Shiryu steal the blade

I think Shiryu has an unrevealed history with Wano. His epithet "of the Rain" hints at this. The Uzuki Family historically ruled over the Udon region, and the name "Uzuki" means "Rain Moon." So, Shiryu may have been raised in Udon. He likely left on bad terms or was perhaps even banished.

If the Blackbeard Pirates are going to invade Wano for Pluton, stealing Shusui, the national treasure, seems in line with their antics.

I also think Shiryu is written to be a strong but fraudulent swordsman. Instead of forging his own Black Blade, he'll steal one. And when he ultimately loses, he'll bear the two marks of a swordsman's shame: a shattered blade and wounds on his back from retreating.

This seems to be going way far from the main plot.

First of all why would Teach invade Wano for Pluton? That only makes sense if he finds One Piece and becomes King of Pirates himself.

Second, if they are going for Pluton why would Shiryu one of the top commanders focus on stealing Shusui instead of focusing on the main reason they are there? Like a black blade is more important than an Ancient Weapon?

Third, I just think Shiryu being from Wano is too much for not being hinted at all through the whole series. Like he doesn't talk different to suggest he is from a foregin country or something...

The Blackbeard Pirates invading Wano to steal Pluton is a popular community theory, but it's not something I particularly subscribe to or think about. That said, if this scenario does occur, I can see Shiryu stealing Shusui. The reason would be a potential grudge against Wano if he has a history with them, as I theorized, and another easy method to power up. Multiple things can be stolen, but Pluton would be the priority. It doesn't have to be one or the other, especially when the current Wano doesn't have the manpower to prevent it.

As for Shiryu being from Wano, I’ll expand on this more when the new chapter drops, since there’s something I want to speculate on. For now, there's another hint I haven't mentioned yet. In addition to Shiryu's 'rain' epithet and 'Uzuki' meaning 'Rain Moon,' Udon was used as a prison. And what was Shiryu? The head jailer and a prisoner of Impel Down.

And this flashback will worth even an iota of fuck because?
