Questions & Mysteries Did Roger inspire Mihawk?

#3
Is it possible that the reason Mihawk wanted to become a swordsman was because of Roger? But the one to surpass Roger will be a JoyBoy/Sun God type, and swordsmen might have a limit.

Mihawk might not have known that, but it's too late now. You picked the wrong major at school Mihawk.
Mihawk mid diffs Roger
Honestly
He is stronger than Xebec who mid diffs Roger too

Why do people default to surpassing roger being limited to joyboy or some bullshit?, when he's literally a swordsman. Why would other swordsman be limited from surpassing another swordsman?

Dude, you'd think if Roger can harm domi xebec, then you'd need a swordsman at-least stronger than Roger to be able to significantly damage Imu without exerting all their haki, in comes Zoro, Joyboy's sword. You can say perhaps sanji is joyboys shield in this case. And if not imu then maybe a domi'd nusjuro or shamrock posing a similar threat.

It's not even about necessarily having roger on a pedestal and him being wanked to god status anymore, you should be able to put two and two together. Roger can still be that guy and be surpassed by Zoro in overall strength.

Roger was a CoC wielding swordsman just like Oden, Oden got close to Roger as another CoC wielding swordsman. Why couldn't shanks have surpassed him? why couldn't Mihawk have surpassed him? why couldn't Zoro go on to get stronger than Oden, and then Roger?

Mihawk cannot be inspired by a bum that couldn't even distinguish himself among his swordsmen peers. It'll be Ryuma.

After God Valley, Roger was the biggest pirate in the world though. Mihawk was only 5 then.
Not really, it’s not until The oden flash back that we see Roger being called “great pirate” and that like 15 years after God valley. And Roger was famous alongside Whitebard and shiki

And it’s only after finding the one piece that Roger clears Whitebeard and Shiki as the pirate king

What? Rocks was the only one rivalling Roger's reputation up to GV. After GV, Roger was #1.

Oda was even careful with the words making it a bit nebulous, "even with the future Pirate King sailing the seas, it wouldn't be wrong to say this was Rocks' era"

Okay but Whitebeard reached his prime two years after GV and then Whitebeard was called WSM. Before Roger ever found one piece

if you mean “Roger’s era” only lasted 2 years until Whitebeard reached his prime then sure

anyway on the topic of Mihawk being “inspired” by Roger, well, did Mihawk ever care about being pirate to begin with?
