Probably the biggest deterrent to this is the fact that the beak is still apart of King's anatomy in human form. It's half his face. If something at disastrous as his beak being bent happened, that damage would transfer over when he returned to his human form. However, he made zero indication of ever being troubled by tossing Sanji into the pillar.
