in chapter 1001 we the 5 people Kaido consider as small few who could ever fight him
and Shanks is THE ONLY living member in the list

it's safe to assume Kaido fought all of this 5 people before

many people claim Shanks and Kaido ONLY fought 2 years ago ... but that's not logical





in the Kaido introduction we get to know he fought Yonko and Marine MANY TIMES

but

he didn't fought Big Mom for well over 20 years
he didn't fought Whitebeard for at least 10 years

so ... Shanks is MOST PROBABALE option here


and


we know Shanks Loved Oden like a uncle
so much that Shanks wanted to go with Oden to Wano and help Oden
that's a big claim tbh




Shanks love for Oden is even FAMOUS among the Marine




it's one thing for Roger and Whitebeard to be known for their love for Oden
they were Oden's captains

but why they mentioned Shanks
how did they know Shanks was deeply connected to Oden?

could it be cause Shanks TRYED to fight Kaido cause of Oden and that's why Marine know about Shanks love for Oden?


and

among the 5 people behind Luffy

Shanks is the only one with no smile on his face
since all of those are MENTALPICTURES form Kaido
could he remember Shanks cause Shanks fought him for revenge




after all




just like Roger ... he learned to be a monster when it's come to defending who he love

Possible, though I rather called it as a duel than a avenge match.
but still we got not enough proof to support this though. hence I'd go with the only confimed case they had (Pre-MF) as the only confrontation happened between these 2.

And about Marine knows Shanks relationsship with Oden it's mainly because Marines know Shanks was former Roger's crew and they know as well how solid their relationship they have back in the day.
Ain't no need for a confrontation between Shanks and Kaido to say Shank likes Oden Imo

I dont think he fears Kaido.

But i think you're right on him not trying to avenege Oden. Wasting resources and waging war constantly for a friend 20 years long dead just makes no sense.

Only **** crazy enough to do that is Roger lmao

wrong use officials there are pirate ceilings how great can he be compared to these other pirates
why is big mom fighting him on equal terms, why was luffy fighting him and beating him up in g4 with his dragon form

What Revenge? Why there must be a Revenge for Oden?
These are Pirates, not Drama Queens

Did Kaido declare War on WB or Shanks when he killed Oden? Did he kill him because of them?
Two Pirates fought, Oden died, Kaido ruled, end of story

From their perspective, Oden died fighting another Pirate, this is Life of Piracy, u don't have to get involved in every Fight u hear of
Sure, if Shanks meet Kaido, he is gonna mention Oden & would love to pay Kaido back, but it's not like he made it his Goal to have Revenge like Law with Doffy or Ace & BB

Count me among those who think Shanks showed up behind Luffy because of their clash at Marineford, or possibly at some other time and unrelated to Kaido holding Wano hostage. If the Whitebeard Pirates got off the hook for not helping Oden save his homeland by saying “Information doesn’t get out of Wano,” then Shanks also gets a pass for not avenging his captain’s sworn brother :kayneshrug:
