I think the pain makes sense since several times VoAT is used, it's to forcefully transmit message to others. It's like shoving something in, the receiver also most likely isn't ready, so it pains.

Also, the pain part can ALSO be attributed to difference in strength, aside from proficiency and users' readyness.


- Sea King to Roger doesn't affect him. Sea King to FI Luffy bothers him.
- Luffy to child Momo hurts.

I'm not so sure about that.Yamato has fire and ice to counter him.Law has his hax.Kidd can use assign and that laser(ineffective without haki i know),Luffy can punch him into a pulp...Aramaki would be in trouble.

Not really. Law's crew heard Luffy underwater when he used it on Momo. So you can definitely use it on others who do not have it. Luffy and Momo are just inexperienced in it's use.
