Questions & Mysteries Did the Allied captains fight in the Payback war?

#1

One thing I noticed about this war is that it was never specifically said if it was The WB Commanders alone who fought in this war or if the allied captains helped them out

I have seen that the One Piece community assumes that it was The Commanders alone Vs the BBP.

Is there any reason to believe that?

Of course the allied captains fought alongside the main Whitebeard Pirates crew, it was their great defeat at Blackbeard's hands that caused them to disperse themselves and go their own ways as they had lost any hope of beating Teach and continuing Whitebeard's legacy.

Them being dispersed after that is also what allowed Weevil to easely go after them and beat them and their crews without them getting help.

Weevil began to take them down before the war or only after ? Don't remember well

It's most likely that he went after them after since it looks like he appeared in broad daylight only recently and is still very mysterious to most. Besides it would make much more sense if he went after the allied captains after they were no longer allied with the WBP remnants and with each other and so didn't risk facing the whole WBP remnants in retaliation for his attacks on their allies.

To be fair WBP had to prepare for BB pirates so even if one or two captains were taken down by un unknown man (at that time) I don't think Marco and co could have rescued him.

The problem is that I am not sure if Blackbeard's 9 Captains, with half not even having a devil fruit yet are stronger than 13 Commanders and about 40+ Captains.

Yes of course it's very plausible to infer that some allies took place to the rumble somewhere in the story of this war. But there's no way to confirm so without hints or even flashbacks if possible.

Maybe Marco shall be the key to make us more knowledgeable of this subject matter, but I don't see why the allies should not help. It was a war after all.

Even in the Onigashima war some allies are bound to help. Of course we lack the Grand Fleet with Cavendish, Barto, Bellamy etc however so it's never a granted too.
