I'm sorry, this information can't be validated. I'll request a complete sociological investigation. I can't believe that Young people would be so dumb as to crush their own hearth on purpose.
Frankly, what's the point in dating somebody who's not from one's own niche aka having similar interests?
A relationship that's based on looks and lovey dovey text messages won't last. Having never met a person before and seeking them out solely on the basis of wanting to start a relationship seems so dysfunctional to me.
You know nothing about them, they might put on an act to draw you towards them. Is this not a recipe for a toxic relationship and potential domestic abuse?

The best is to have a date VERY QUICKLY after the first online interaction. Talking online for month will be a waste of time for both side if it goes on and on. Relationships needs shared interests, values and visible interactions etc.
In fact people often say "don't talk about politics and stuff", but i'd say, dude... talk about that. It's the most important stuff to talk about.

Religious/cultural views
Profession
Political views
Preferences over stuff like pets and personal space
All stuff that "love is blind" crowd pretends isn't gonna end up causing a divorce
"Man loves sports while wife loves knitting" can work, "man is a plumber working 80 hours while Wife is a clerk working a hybrid 20 hours job" is a recipe for disaster tbh

Funny because we can have a political look on this an explain that a good couple would be one that can manage to get their material condition and material interest either aligned or complementary. But when the material conditions and interests of one contradicts the one of the others it becomes a problem. (most of the time it's related to the differences under patriarchy but it can differ and be broaden)
They can definitely work, I know quite a few people who are happily married and with children with people that they met in dating apps.
I've been mostly single and I kinda struggle to approach women in normal settings; ie college and such. And so, a few people have told me to get a dating app

No. I'm stating the fact. You are making an argument based on your experience. Said argument is based on a complete fallacy that for once I need to show you : the survivorship bias (what this plane is showing)
It's not because it worked for your closed one that it does work in reality. In reality it doesn't, there are just a few that got lucky.
