Character Discussion Do Mihawk fans actually want him to be a Celestial Dragon?

#1
So since we found out Shanks was a Celestial Dragon a couple years ago, some fans have argued that Mihawk could also be a former CD for the sake of a parallel. The argument is basically based on the way he conducts himself, being very elitist and aristocratic in his demeanor and appearance. The guy even lives in a castle.

And Mihawk doesn't really seem like a pirate in like....anything really. He doesn't have a crew, a flag, nor does he show any interest in the pirate lifestyle of adventure and treasure like the OP.
Some people also argue that Mihawk could be a member of the Nerona family due to his eyes

Personally, I don't really agree with this theory because I can't think of a reason why Mihawk would give up his status tbh. While with Shanks we know that he gave up his status as part of hipster phase

Nah but seriously, Shanks decided to not live among CD's because he was too attached to the lower world and the people in it. Unless Mihawk really cares about the monkeys who live on his island, I doubt he has any close bonds. You could maybe argue that he might have moral issues with it, but he's currently working with a guy who got out of jail for trying to kill 1 million people with a bomb after starting a brutal civil war lol. It seems like the guy just wants a peaceful life.

There is of course the possibility of Mihawk having a similar situation to Doffy where his parents gave up their status, but that would just be reusing a plotline.
Personally, I think Mihawk should be from a royal family of a country that was destroyed. This could explain why he's alone, isn't like any other pirate, doesn't trust people, and and has interest in Crocodiles "Operation Utopia"

so, what is the consensus on the forum about Mihawks backstory? Should he be related to the CD's or something else?

I think DFs were Created by Ancient Kingdom,
And i believe that whatever keeps these DFs Alive (Being able to Transfer to a New Fruit once Host Dies), also applied to OG 19 King,
In other words, after They Died, their Consciousness was Transferred to New Hosts (People),

That means there are 20 Babies who were born Possessed by an OG King, obviously that would make them Rightful Rulers of WG,
Initially, those Kings are Dormant, but if Awakened, They can become One with their Hosts (Similar to Description of DF Awakening),
How do We see that? Their Eyes become Double-Layered, indicating that Two People are actually looking through those Eyes,

In other words, Dracule Mihawk is Host to an OG King, hence why He has Double-Layered Eyes,
Cavendish is also another Host, and King inside him is Named Hakuba, however, They aren't Awakened yet,
One sitting on Empty Throne is also another Host, and King inside him seems to be Nerona Imu,
Another Host is Zunisha, and i'm still waiting to see Rest,

However, it seems that these OG Kings were Abandoned & their Rule Denied, either because Imu Betrayed them or Knowledge of their Immortality was Forgotten/Denied or because only a Host of Royal Blood can Rule or maybe They are simply waiting Someone to Mass Awaken them all,

So technically, Mihawk isn't a Celestial Dragon, He is Host of Ancient King imo,
Which makes him similar to Zombie Ryuma, while other Kings are like General Zombies,
And this is why Mihawk was able to reach Level of Greatest Swordsman, it's because He Trained & Fought & Learned more than Anyone Alive,
Just like Zombie Ryuma was too Strong due to remaining Awake & Training, while other General Zombies were Asleep,

All i'm waiting for now, is Someone to appear who can Awaken all these Kings (Just like Absalom did with General Zombies).

I struggle to see how Marine Hunter (the only real hint of Mihawk’s past) and former Celestial Dragon measure up to each other.

The two don’t really match to me. Why would a former CD specifically have a grudge against Marines?

Also in general, I think a former CD Yonko, a former CD Warlord and a kind of CD Worst Gen is enough.
