I’m not surprised. I did see Sanji was removed from a scene he was clearly in. Sanji is the easiest Strawhat to dislike if you’re an OG fan. Oda destroyed him post timeskip. I’m not saying this is right at all, I don’t believe it is.

Oda has said several times that he does not care about what the anime do. He even made statement where he allows them to do as they please.

Oda never neglected Sanji. You can look at WCI, Wano, Egghead, and now Elbaf.

WCI - Whole arc for his back story
Wano - Giving up on raid suit and invisibility, power up
Egghead - Power of love
Elbaf - Comparison with Gaban

You can compare these to Zoro.

WCI - Absent, back story in SBS
Wano - Better portrayal than Sanji, but Sanji didnt look bad either
Eggead - Didnt fight an admiral, instead defeated Lucci. Sanji and Zoro had similar feats against Gorosei
Elbaf - Zoro being Zoro, but Sanji got more hype again.

Omitting a panel is an issue, but bigger issue is how Oda cant stop Sanji's stupid gags.

I am used to Sanji getting hype tooled in one way or the other, but still Sanji is a great character, except the gags of course.
And people say Sanji does this, he does that, but it is Oda who is writing the character.

Perhaps Sanji type characters are popular in Japan. Not surprising though, since authors continue to publish lolies and sexualizing them too.
Seems to be a cultural thing. This kind of stuff will not be allowed in other countries (I guess, lol).
