Do you think once one piece ends it’s going to get the Naruto treatment ?
I remember when Naruto manga was on and people used to say naruto is one of the greatest shonen in terms of writing world building etc until the manga ended. Few years later Naruto started to get massive hate and tons of videos was made explaining why Naruto manga sucked

keep in mind these are few videos I’ve showed and you can find tons of Naruto is ass manga/anacross social media from YouTube to TikTok to Reddit to Twitter etc.

It’s funny because all of this never happened when Naruto was going on until it ended.
So my question is do you believe one piece will get this treatment once the manga/anime ends ? It’s going to go from one piece is the greatest shonen and luffy is the greatest MC to its one of the worst shonen and the worst MC
I can see the hate for characters like brook chopper etc

I can't say it's impossible. In fact, it's pretty likely. I mean, can you name a long-running Shonen manga series that actually has a universally beloved ending? At best, a handful of them have an "okay" ending. I really can't think of many where the ending to the manga was the best part of the story. Bleach, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, all their endings kind of soured the experience for their fandoms.

In a way, it's kind of already happening. I've seen a bunch of people complaining about how much focus Nika or Luffy is getting. And how much they miss pre-timeskip One Piece. The seeds are here for the fanbase to turn on the franchise.

But, One Piece could also be the exception to this. Because Oda has been sprinkling in little bits of foreshadowing into the story. Chances are, we will be able to look back and see the breadcrumbs that led to this ending. One Piece has something most long-running Shonen doesn't have. Oda does have a plan.

I'm not sure if we're going to end up liking that plan. Or if that plan will turn out to be worth it.

But, I hope it is. And that's really all we can do at this point. Chances are it won't please everyone. But, I'm hoping for at least a "okay" ending.

It's going to be hard to nail the landing on a 30 year old story, no matter what he does. But, Oda is in a position where he can make something pretty memorable. One way or another.

Naruto is still held in high regard overall though, is it not?

As for One Piece, it's currently in a weird spot since there are many people who refuse to condone any criticism of Oda and others who are exceedingly critical without balance.

I think OP will likely end up like AoT, most will still love it and call it great when it ends, but there'll be a small dedicated group who feel it went to shit at some point and a similar group who think it is Peak Fiction (TM).

However the majority will eventually take off the rose/coal glasses and see it as a great series with some flaws IMO.

The ending will disappoint a lot of people. Because this Void Century/What is the One Piece mystery was hyped too much for too many years,so whatever answer we'll get,there will be a "thats it?? Just that? Lame!" from many people for sure.

But,One Piece,like Naruto,will remain a popular and selling franchise anyway,with probably even more than one spin-off

The main criticism on one piece will be post timeskip like Naruto shippuden

post time skip arcs have been a miss majority of them except dressrosa and egghead the rest was mid or garbage. Now we’re in the final saga and if oda doesn’t change up then I can see people arguing that post timeskip arcs overall was bad

Yh many folks especially in here gave up on oda and accept the series how it is. We all had high expectations for wano but look the result oda gave us.

I’m willing to forgive oda if the final saga is actually good with good ending

I do see one piece fame/popularity dying tho unlike Naruto. I wonder what will they do after the one piece anime ends. Maybe luffy kid get their own series or make an anime for the side or main villains

Fandom actually more disappointed on characters than the story itself, myself included.

There are always good pro Naruto videos also


Naruto minus final war arc was peak and based. It still considered by many to be greatest. OP will get same treatment.
