Him being from Africa? I mean personally I think One Piece would have been better if Usopp stayed FM. I mean recreate eastblue with the idea the luffy, usopp Sanji and Zoro are the strongest in the crew. Or alabaster where Usopp fights Robin or someother second in command. Daz would still fight Zoro but imagine another opponent for usopp.

Or the fight between Luffy and Usopp if Usopp was actually strong.

I think Usopp being made ridiculously weak to the point where he is now a meme character has more to do with Oda being too in love with Usopp's cowardly gag.

Yea but I doubt that was part of his original design and him not really growing from battles and constantly backtracking in character seems a bit racist. I mean he's cowardly weak and carries a bottle of hot sauce. He's been through the same punishment as the m3 and is constantly improving his arsenal just to be too weak to handle any enemy.
