That’s personal morals and self rule...

Honor from Oxford dictionay

  1. high respect; great esteem.
  2. adherence to what is right or to a conventional standard of conduct.
  3. regard with great respect.
  4. fulfill (an obligation) or keep (an agreement).
:kata:
That second definition which is the most relevant starts with “adherence to what is right”. What is right is subjective and so is honor. They’re both abstract concepts and what’s right and honorable from one perspective may not be from another. I also don’t believe honor is all or nothing. It’s more like a sliding scale and character’s can fall from one end to the other. But we’re free to disagree I appreciated the back and forth but I don’t want to turn the whole thread into that lol. I would not say Katakuri is honorable, just that he displayed some honor in that fight.

In talking about Katakuri I’ve actually convinced myself that Akainu may have a very twisted sense of honor. Even when it comes to toasting civilians. I’m sure he would say it’s dishonorable to let a criminal get away even if it meant killing civilians. Warped? Yes. There? I guess lol. Now I’m having a philosophical crisis, thanks OP.

Well to kill or be killed. If im on that situation i'd ignore everything including honor to escape the 'be killed' outcome. Him doing that is just him being human.

And if im a general of an army, i will do everything necessary for my army to win, thats including tricking my enemy to fight against their own friend.

Im not Akainu fan btw.

lmao low tier thread

No honor for what he sees as injustice

wb did have his chance to finish akainu off behind his back as "honorable" as he is however
it didnt work out.

Akainu notoriously attacked WB while the old man was having a heart attack, and it is generally considered a dick move and dishonorable to attack someone while they’re having a heart attack. Akainu also, without objection, lied to Squard in order to trick him into weakening WB with a sneak attack. Akainu also chose to taunt Ace in order to lure him away from the rest of the WBP instead of just attacking the WBP head on.
That damn Akainu, how dare he take advantage of psychological warfare which was a common thing throughout written history? He should have given WB a life support and the keys for Ace's handcuffs instead.

Honor in war is trivial shit that stems from shonen mentally. Yes, Akainu has no honor in it, pretty much like Yonko BB who has less gratitude and loyalty than a fucking chimpanzee yet is a fan favorite. It's in character for both Yonko BB and Admiral Akainu to be amoral, opportunistic and deceptive. (IE, Basic villain traits associated with their scripts that prevents them from being dogshit, bland villains).

Obviously not.......marines also works for celestial dragon.......if celestial dragon wants a country for themselves they will send marines or even admirals for such and akainu have to do so as he is under their thumb........hence garp didn't became an admiral.........

Think it like Scabbards attacking Kaido from back, samurais have also honor as you know but there are some situations which you should use. Also if marine soldier does not wanna fight, he shouldn't be marine soldier either. Marine is people's hopes. If you run away from pirates like this, you kill people's hopes.

People thinking Coby will 1v1 and win against Hancock. Not even currently Luffy is winning against her.
I think Luffy is most likely defeating her if the intent is serious enough since Haki should be able to tackle stoning and if the Law issues with affecting people wielding a strong enough haki also works with her Mero Mero that's a double factor, yet Luffy could still most likely blitz her nevertheless, conversely. But I concur about the former. There's too little evidence of Coby standing that elevated.

That things about Law DF and haki is a mess. How is that work? Yonkos are haki monsters so nothing happen to them, but what about those attack Law used against Kaido? Gamma Knife, Injectin Shot(not sure but I think it was those)... How they hurt Kaido if Law's haki isn't strong enough?
And what about Law's fight against Smoker, Vergo, Doffy? He needed to take Smoker off guard to proper use his DF against him. Against Vergo full body haki he used without a problem, against Doffy he made Doffy bleed when Doffy hold his sword while coating his hand on haki.
I can understand he using his ability on Luffy and Zoro because they "let", they didn't try to protect themselves with haki against Law since they were a team. But those others fights makes no sense so far.
