Also it might work on people that have specific desires like wanting power so it corrupts you. It works from my point of view like BM soul extractions that needs people to fear her to work properly.

It is possible but based on the panel we have it is not the case.
People are saying he was flipped while it is obvious in the panel that he wasnt.
Loki is the only one who knows what happened and even he might have not put all the pieces together.
