Character Discussion Does Zoro's progress make sense?

He hasn't been pushing that agenda, the fans have. Kaido wanting to die, =/= he will die. The fans want to connect Zoro to Ryuma, so Zoro MUST slay a dragon like Ryuma did. That's also not how Oda does things. His characters forged their own paths and build their own legends. Zoro doesn't need to be a clone of the hero of Wano, for him to be recognized in the same light. What's next, he's going to stay behind and singlehandedly hold off all the Marines and Pirates who try to enter the now opened borders of Wano, while the rest of the Straw Hats continue their journey, and fulfill their dreams? Might as well go all out on the Ryuma clone, shouldn't we, cause god forbid Zoro does something unique to his own character. It's a load of horseshit. Zoro is not Ryuma, he is Zoro, and will create his own legend, not replicate the feats of another so his name reaches the heavens.

Zoro is Rayleigh, not Ryuuma. Ryuuma was honestly just an off shoot reference from Oda's last manga that oda made canon to the one piece verse or something. Zoro is probably related to him through that daimyo family who were onimaru's master, but that's about it.

I don't believe Kaido will die this war

I believe Kaido's theme of "wanting to die" has a certain path:
1- Oda will put him in a situation where he's about to die, BUT not in a glorofied Death, a death Unfitting for his status, a death Kaido would deem unworthy to make his life ending "glorious"

2- Kaido in that moment will "want to live" he will have an internal monologue that he doesn't want to die like this!

3- Later down against WG, I believe they are the ones with secrets about how to kill Dragons, specially Gorosei. I believe Yamato will join crew, thus in final war, Kaido's involvement is dying for Yamato (which will be a glorofied death on the grandest biggest war) as he wanted and for an epic cause, which is his daughter.

That's what I believe... this arc I believe will just end in Kaido's defeat, his crew will take him away on a ship and retreat in similar manner to how Absalom after being defeated he sailed away with Dr. Hogback. Similarly, maybe Jack and someone else retreats and takes Kaido with him

Just because Luffy shares a similar personality with Roger, it doesn't mean he is following the same exact path Roger did to become pirate king. If Roger lifted a mountain, defeated 100,000 giants, walked through lava, and and punched an island so hard it turned to dust, it doesn't mean Luffy is going to do those things.

Luffy is literally being built up to do what Roger couldn't do. Personalities aside, their paths are not the same.

Because Zoro is literally a character template off of Ryuuma, who is another character from oda's pervious series. Mangaka do it all the time, Mashima literally recycles EVERY character model from Rave Master to Fairy Tail, and Fairy Tail to his new series.

Oda was refitting an old character design from a less popular series to one for a more popular series. Also in the one piece verse, zoro is more than likely directly related by blood to ryuuma. In the end, ryuuma is just a reference and backstory for one of zoro's swords, he hasn't done anything in the canon but defeat a dragon, so there isn't something for zoro to replicate. Meanwhile he's clearly a strong comparison to rayleigh.

Also regarding enma, Oden cut Kaidou, the swords were just his tools. Them cutting kaidou and being oden's previous weapons are backstory to give zoro's new sword a cool backstory. Of course he's going to land one hit on kaidou before being one hit, probably out of kaidou being already weakened, it being a blindside, or kaidou suffering from a lapse in defense due to having ptsd from seeing enma again (Cuz oden cut him with it)

Honestly if you think zoro is going to be the one defeat kaidou, you're just delusional.

I mean Luffy's not pirate king yet, and won't be for like 4 arcs. Luffy isn't yonkou level yet, he was recently one hit by a yonkou in base, so like, why would his crew being pirate king crew leveled already? Also if Yamato joined the crew, Franky would be the 5th strongest. Do we even know who the 5th strongest crewmate of Rogers' was?

Luffy isn't yonkou level yet, his crew isn't yonkou leveled yet either. WE already saw this clear as day when kaidou's 8th and 9th strongest crew mates beat luffy's 8th and 9th strongest crewmates in like 20 seconds.

Nah Diamante and trébol aren't beating any ministers or high level veterans. Not sure about Pica or Vergo either..... It depends on how the Tobi Roppo/ministers are portrayed in an actual fight. So far they've been impressive in clashes.

Trebol made Robin and Usopp look like literal fodder. He only looked weak cuz he was against Law and Luffy.

Diamante only looked weak cuz Kyros is a monster trio leveled character.
