rebeca was introduced as a warrior but didn’t even help to defeat diamanté

shirahoshi is an ancient weapon...
Yamato's feats since she's been introduced:
  • Oneshot a Full Zoan form Tobi Roppo (in Base)
  • Sparred with G3 Luffy and blocked all his attacks despite Luffy obviously exerting himself
    • This includes an Advanced COA punch
  • Oneshot a Number (in Base)
  • Stalemated Ace (in Base)
  • Tanked relentless cannon fire (in Base)
  • Merely hinting that she might use her Zoan terrified Sasaki

Yamato's portrayal since she's been introduced:
  • Without the use of her Devil Fruit abilities, she was on par with Ace when they fought.
    • She's had 2 more years to grow since Ace died
  • Kaido raised her as his "son" and to be a fierce warrior.
    • He taught her his fighting style
  • She's Kaido's only child and Kaido seeks to make her Shogun
    • Kaido is someone that highly values and respects strength
      • He chided Doflamingo for being "too weak".

Yamato has been built up as a formidable combatant in a way no other female ally of the Strawhats has.

Jimbe is fighting a Tobi Roppo.

Yamato oneshot a Tobi Roppo:

Yamato's arc opponent is Kaido. There's no way Yamato will "end up like Jimbe".
this is like oneshot someone who had two hands tied and you attacked from their back while they were distracted. you can't count this as a regular oneshot. but I agree Yamato is stronger than King or on his level.

Doesn’t matter...oda couldn’t careless about making sense lmao

big mom is a yonko one of the 4 strongest characters yet she was fodder to the supernova and now she has mother mode...oda will do whatever he feels like he wants to do.

It’s a pattern as I said.

if Yamato was weaker than his minions Kaido would see her as failure and treat her like judge with sanji, but he chose her to be the shogun.
If King is stronger, why Kaido didn't choose him to be the new shogun? He didn't need the shogun to be his son.
Because he planned to leave Yamato trapped on Onigashima (i.e in the flower capital) He'd want his top men with him when he goes to Raftel.

As i say, if Yamato are created for the purpose to be the Oden of the "new gen", Oda is gonna never downplay her. Idk if she is YC level, but i doubt she gonna be irrelevant to the story, bro Oda overwank Oden so much, that is impossible that Yamato is gonna being the useless princess of the arc.
Yamato is oden crazy fan girl just like the princesses were Luffy fan girls

This thread reminds me that I gotta call my doctor and reserve an IV drip or something...I am gonna be lapping up SO many tears from the anti-Yamato collective by the end of this arc, I don’t want the tons and tons of salt in those tears to make me too dehydrated to enjoy it :steef::cheers:
Oof, WG have inmeasurable ammounts of post and anti Yamato threads, that gonna age like milk.
That day is gonna be a sea of tears

Look at Kaido's interactions with and perceptions of Yamato:
  • Yamato is Kaido's only child.
  • Kaido raised Yamato as his son and to become the next Shogun.
    • Kaido is someone who respects strength above all else.
    • He chides Doflamingo for being "too weak".
    • Kaido's desire to make Yamato the Shogun is similar to Whitebeard's desire to make Ace the next Pirate King.
  • He would not make his son Shogun if they were not strong enough.
  • Yamato repeatedly challenged Kaido since childhood and he beat her down every time.
  • Yamato inherited Kaido's absurd durability and strength.
  • Kaido taught Yamato his fighting style.

Yamato's upbringing and Kaido's perception of her suggests that Kaido has a very high opinion of Yamato's strength.

Giving their relationship, I do not think it's at all plausible for Yamato to end up a damsel in distress or impotent princess.

I have high expectations for Yamato because Kaido himself has high expectations for Yamato.

Jimbe is fighting a Tobi Roppo.

Yamato oneshot a Tobi Roppo:

Yamato's arc opponent is Kaido. There's no way Yamato will "end up like Jimbe".
1. But the Tobi Roppo wakes up again in the next chapter
2. Who's Who was with his full crew and there is no cheapshot while Yamato cheapshotted Ulti from behind.
Who's Who is also kinda portrayed to be the strongest among the loyal Flying Six.
3. Jinbe also had his share of facing legit Top Tiers, Akainu and Big Mom.

1. But the Tobi Roppo wakes up again in the next chapter
We see Page One tending to her and requesting for medical assistance:

When Ulti wakes up she is shown to be coughing up blood for several pages:

Page One and the Beast Pirates fodder even commented on how much damage she took:

Ulti was very heavily injured by the Thunder Bagua.

2. Who's Who was with his full crew and there is no cheapshot while Yamato cheapshotted Ulti from behind.
It was a cheap shot, but I'm not sure Ulti can react to a head-on Thunder Bagua, it is a blitz attack after all.

Who's Who is also kinda portrayed to be the strongest among the loyal Flying Six.
I agree with this.

3. Jinbe also had his share of facing legit Top Tiers, Akainu and Big Mom.
Jimbe never faced a top tier as his arc opponent, while Yamato will do so this arc.

This is what happens if there is no cheap shot.

Jimbe never faced a top tier as his arc opponent, while Yamato will do so this arc.
Jinbe fought Big Mom 2x and never had his ass kicked. If anything Jinbe almost killed her by drowning if she wasn't saved by her homie. While Yamato will have her ass kicked against Top Tier this arc.

Nah, even their second encounter reinforces that Ulti is far below Yamato's level.
Ulti attacked Yamato again. Yamato blocked her attacks:

Luffy asked her to help Momonosuke, she continued to chat with Luffy while fending off Ulti:

After that, she left Ulti to meet Momonosuke:

Yamato never actually attacked Ulti the second time.

She was casually chatting with Luffy and having an existential crisis about Momonosuke being her son while she was fending off Ulti. Ulti was so much of a non-threat that Yamato could do this.

Luffy distracted Yamato by requesting that she should protect Momonosuke (she turned around to address him). This lead to Yamato debating whether Momo was actually her son (distracting her further). Ulti couldn't even land a hit on Yamato when she was so distracted. Compare how:
  • Kamazou was able to land a hit on Zoro when he was distracted by Gyukimaru.
  • Hawkins was able to overcome Zoro's guard and land some nails on him.
The gap between Ulti and Yamato is thus much larger than the gap between Kamazou and Zoro or between Hawkins and Zoro.

Claiming that Yamato is Ulti level would be like saying that it's an anti feat for Mihawk that he blocked Crocodile's strike.
Or that Vista is Mihawk level because he traded blows with him.

My expectations feature Yamato probably reaching Kaido and talking to him, but about fighting either, I'm much more skeptical around that.

I wished Yamato fought King but it strikes as more and more unlikely each passing chapter.
