When losing to Kaido:
  • Oden got execution, resulting in death
  • Kids was prisoned for age
  • Killer was forced to eat Smile and became Orochi's dog
  • Zoro was sent back under roof and got time bomb elixir to be in the game
  • Scabbards lost will to fight Kaido after getting defeated
  • Luffy
    • losing 1st round from getting one-shot in gear 4th
      • get free training camp in the prison
      • get perfect teacher at perfect moment
      • new Ryou power ups
    • losing 2nd round from Ragnarok
      • become tanky so sudden.
      • unlock advCOC by copying Kaido
    • losing 3rd round
      • get throw to the sea while Kaido doubting himself why he don't kill Luffy
      • unlock telepathy at the perfect moment.
      • get full recovery by just eating meat without any consequence (while Zoro got time bomb)
    • Fighting 4th round
      • He can tank Kaido infinity now like the way he tank hundred hits from Katakuri

Luffy has plot protection.

Zoro has fan service protection which is why he rarely ever take Ls unlike Luffy and Sanji.

You're making it seem like this is your first time reading a shonen manga.

Every Zoro battle makes sense at least.

oh, you don't remember zoro unlocking coc and advcoc at the same time when he did not know he had coc, or zoro blocking hakai for a few second or.........
you don't remember kinemon, law and zoro tanking tb

Then he goes from getting KO'd by nerfed killer to first commander level thanks to Oden sword (plot)

That is post timeskip only. And was Oda's option of writing to portray Zoro that high and fighting only weak people.

Both Monet and Pica that Zoro had no trouble against were giving trouble to Base Luffy. Not gonna say Hody because Zoro didn't fought that kind of steroid Hody but that subordinate of him gave trouble to Luffy.

IKR. whats the point of stating the obvious, this was like a typical thing in shonen, from the start the author already shown luffy having the most Luck, after a lightning strike hit the platform of his supposed to be execution. then proceed to point out about divine intervention, showing zoro and sanji talking about god and miracle and shit.

When Zoro lost, he accepted defeated and got consequences. Like the time he lost to Kuma or the time he lost to Kaido.

If you switch Kuma situation to Luffy, he will definitely regain unlimited stamina from his will power and being able to beat Kuma, the way he did with Kaido. I believe Luffy fan should agree on that.

You forgot about other strawhats too. Zoro and Sanji have thick plot armor too, although not as thick as the pirate christ himself, but still.

I don't think that is the plot armor issue. Instead, it is Oda fault that made those enemies look like fodders.

If Oda portray flying six and calamities much superior to Strawhats, that will be the plot armor problem. This is different from Kaido vs Luffy. Oda portray Kaido as "The World Strongest", could easily one-shot Luffy, brutally punish those who resisted. But then somehow turns into Luffy's trainer.

Also, Sanji power up has been built up since WCI. Zoro power up has been built up since he received Enma. Compared with Luffy plot armor is like comparing ant and elephant.
