Hi.
This one will be very quick.
I made a thread once (now deleted) were I talked about the way how Elbaph was a very political arc with a lot of values in conflict. Mostly peacefull ones VS War centric ones.
In my mind at the time, this was the logical thematics of the entire arc. I thought that Oda had lowered the importance of the philosophical conflict until now. Imu and the God's knight arriving let very little space for this battle of opinion to take place. But now that I look at Loki and especially his conflictual relationship with his foster mother and Shiraoshi, it seems clear to me that Loki is far more conflicted about his father's legacy that I previousely believed. It was so obvious, I simply didn't connect the dots.
Loki considers that his father's wish was foolish, perhaps even the trigger for his demise. But a great character eventually has to face their demon and either accept them or keep them away. It would be strange for oda to deliver a message for the necessity of War in Elbaph, so my hypothesis is the following:
The battle against Imu will wake Loki up, probably not instantly, possibily a bit later. Maybe Imu will tell him something... and Loki will start to understand the wish of his father eventually choosing to follow in his peacefull footstep.
BUT
He will probably consider that to keep Elbaph safe.. he will have to fight with Luffy and allow him find the One Piece to destroy the legitimacy of the government.
