General & Others Dressrosa appreciation post

The arc managed to juggle multiple different factions at once such as the Revolutionaries, Marines, Gladiators, etc and it managed to handle all of them rather well. No subplot felt underdeveloped and no character felt like they didn't get enough screentime. All the Strawhats present got plenty to do and had their own subplots going on. The prominent minor characters like Bartolomeo, Cavendish, Baby 5, etc were all genuinely great and entertaining characters who had really good chemistry with the Strawhats. The arc had a shit ton of characters but it still doesn't feel like any character was wasted or underutilized. Despite all of the shit going on, it still managed to have a strong emotional core in characters like Law, Rebecca, Kyros, and Rosinante. And after everything is said and done, the ending managed to tie it all together rather neatly.

I understand that it's one of the more divisive arcs, but I'd personally put it in the top 5 One Piece arcs

I look considerably more fondly on it now than I did at the time.

Despite it’s faults, it at least pulled together everything together for a real good ending.

WCI and Wano very much did not. I can forgive a lot of an arc if it sticks the landing, and the ending of Dressrosa really did.
I disagree on WCI not sticking the landing. 902 is one of my favorite chapters in One Piece

Dressrosa is very special to me. Glad to see appreciation for it. It can be frustrating when stuff like pacing issues or annoying, less important sub plots you could cut out take the focus away from the best part, which imo is the psychology (Doffy and his dynamic with Law and Cora). Could have been tighter, but the highs are well worth it.
