I was reading through Law's backstory again, and I couldn't help but feel as if Dressrosa was a significantly better written arc than wano.
I don't know if anyone else got this feeling. Like yes, wano is more hype. You have the SHs and allies fighting 2 of the yonko. But I feel like the writing and the characters of Dressrosa were just more compelling.
I feel like Doffy was a more interesting character than Kaido, who felt less like a real character and more of a video game boss villain. I prefer Law's backstory to Oden's, which honestly just seems very contrived. Like how the fuck did they even imprison Oden, the dude wasn't a DF user. All of the scabbards just snapped their handcuffs the moment after the whole boiling scene. Why didn't Oden do that? Why didn't he fucking tell Kawamatsu to go find Rayleigh or WB? Its just dumb and contrived.
I also think G4 was a better handled power up than G5. G4 made sense. This was the first time Luffy was truly going all out since post skip and hence it made sense for him to have something like G4 up his sleeve. But Luffy's wano power ups were just ridiculous. Dude gets KO'd 3 times and magically unlocks a new power up each time. It shits on the tension of the story because it essentially means that its impossible for Luffy to really lose.
Overall, I feel like Dressrosa was a much better planned arc. Wano just felt like a mess.
