Is thanking posts during a running game acceptable or frowned upon?
(I did not see anything on it in the rules, and different sites have different rules on the matter)

I keep rules pretty lax here, no harm in doing it while you're alive in the game, only thing I would say is most hosts frown upon doing it when your dead/spectating as it could influence the thread. I would say you can still react to host writeups without any issue regardless, though.
