Very common though not always harmless. I would say we rarely have a game without at least one, and in a game this size, I'd expect at least a couple.

My town is very hit or miss. The fact that I just endgames a mash as town (after shooting a wolf d2) is very telling of how bad it has become these days.

As scum I am normally great day 1. day 3 onwards I stop caring a bit too much and people start finding me.

Guaranteed to be in almost all games id say, sometimes they are a threat, sometimes town adjacent, sometimes completely neutral, sometimes they will murder everyone.

Non town, non mafia roles can be present, more frequently in larger games. They can come in every variety as well...harmful and not, helpful to town, helpful to scum, or truly independent
