Luffy fights the strongest (by far) in an extreme diff
Zoro beats the 2nd strongest
Sanji fights a slightly weaker opponent than Zoro’s but wins with less difficulty
This was the obvious matchup but for some reason fans convinced themselves Zoro became equal to Luffy while Sanji was demoted to Franky-status

It’s got as much as common with EL as it does Arlong Park or Alabasta tbh. Even Thriller Bark. Or Skypiea and Dressrosa, if Sanji had played a role in the latter.
Ennies Lobby is not the be-all and end-all of One Piece arcs. Luffy vs Kaido is very, very different to how Luffy vs Lucci went down. If Zoro’s prior inuries come back up then that’s more AP than EL. There was no Big Mom figure on EL, no Kid/Law either. Jack doesn’t fit the pattern of EL but does in AP. King Queen are far more like Mr 1 and Mr 2 than they are Kaku/Jabra. Zoro learned to cut steel in Alabasta/cut fire in Wano. Etc, etc.

the primary parallels are Enies lobby and TB that's a given.. and they are not randomly picked but are sequenced and symbolic as well like the whole sanji BM thing to Sanji Kalifal.. saving ussop and chopper right after.. and sanji and zoro fighting the 2nd and 3rd strongest until the latter comes and intervenes
there might be some similarities in other arcs but the point is they aren't as consistent as Enies lobby and how oda seems to parallels it within Wano
Again if you'll look for differences you'll find alot of them..the point is I'm not claiming that they are ditto similar but they are conceptually similar.. Luffy is atm fighting an antagonist that is several tiers above his 2nd and 3rd strongest subordinated... which conceptually coincides with EL match ups and the doriki PU's given you can't deny that
this isn't really similar to current situation
zoro didn't get a healing syringe in AP he fought while he was nerfed and he seems to be fighting toe to toe with King and is even disturbing the dude compare that to wheezing and nerfed against Octo-san.. matter the fact he was alright in Log town
this is more of a TB parallel where after he fights and wins his fair share he get extremely nerfed after sacrificing for Luffy and be nerfed after the arc as well which he would be
thats a non-factor to parallels since thats a wano exclusive things. we're talking about certain plot point regarding the SHP and side-protagonist that coincide with EL..
Again parallels pertaining SHP and how they went about things not WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTER APPEARED WHAT WERE THEY WEARING DAIPERS LIKE BM OR NOT..
then this beats the whole point of finding connections.. the whole point again is finding consistencies to how oda is repeating ample stuff that resembles parts majorly from EL (even TB but that's not relevant to the thread)
if the purpose of parallels was to imitate initial arcs diametrically then the story would get monotonous and banal.. thats why there are different set of opponents every arc which different characteristics but here oda just uses the "concept" of the strongest being leagues above the othe 2 so...
and ofc some parallels are character exclusive.. like how most of zoro's opponents are blade users and.... bla-.. and now king the dishonest swordsman
Sanji's opponents are hand to hand martial artists or now cyborgs
that are character exclusive things oda repeats.. with nuances and contrasts in characters.. but they follow the same theme of being 2 and 3 strongest.. Goffy for sanji and cold en cool for zoro
fire is not.. steel lmao and that's very different from how he attained those abilities.

against the whole point fo parallels is to to find patterns in the arc that match precisely or relatively with the arc being compared.. to ofc anticipate what happens next or predict what will happen next..
for example after EL arc in Water 7 shanks was revealed to be a Yonko..
we're hoping after the war in Wano (which is Water 7 in parallel) he will make his move..
i mean even if he make it a chap later.. we're technically hovering over wano at this point

The difference between Enies Lobby and Wano is the former was well thought out and the latter, aside from a few gems, sucked ass. Page One and Ulti's fights sucked. Jack's fight sucked. Unlike Chopper, Usopp served a meaningful purpose to the plot that, in addition, benefited his character arc at the time. Usopp got an actual match-up. Chopper subdued Queen's PIS virus, there because Oda can't be bothered bringing in the Grand Fleet or more Whitebeard Pirate remnants to deal with Kaido's numbers.

how was DJ the only trait or result of the modification that showed up without wearing the RS.. and if its was one of the modification why was it the only one that he gradually came about or mastered or DJ manifested.. but none of his other modifications kicked in when he was training with zeff (enough to make his body withstand heavy iron plates and flames) or his Exoskeleton which didn't kick in after the countless times he broke his bones?
