I actually think this is a sign of something "darker" that is happening with the entire fandom and that will culminate in a really bad conclusion when we're really close to the end of the story.
One Piece has many fans, the ogs who have been following it since the ancient days, the many bleach and naruto fans that came over after their series were concluded, the new gen fans who found One Piece after the live action and One Piece finally growing in the western world.
All of those fans have expectations, and widely different expectations, which is something that happens with big epic stories like this. Like you said, most people have an agenda, they have favorite characters /factions and they want to see Oda use them and give them great moments before the story ends.
Lore theorists want to see the great flashbacks about the Void Century and God Valley. They want the backstories of huge characters like Shanks, Blackbeard and Imu. They want all the secrets this world has to offer.
The adventure bros and gals want to see a huge Elbaf arc with great adventure, like classic arcs, and don't care about the rest of the conflicts.
There's even some shippers hiding in the shadowy dark corners of the fandom.
And of course the Agenda Piece fans and Powerscalers. Everyone has their faves and wants their faves to fight important characters and come out on top.
If you've been reading Shounen and following different series, you know that One Piece has reached the juncture point where things are gonna start going nuclear. Fans will start noticing the things they want to happen, won't happen, either because the story won't allow for it or there isn't time. We've recently seen two big new gen shounen fandoms collapse in MHA and JJK, and those stories didn't create expectations for almost 30 years like One Piece did. One Piece fans have created insane expectations at this point and no matter how good Oda is, there's just no way to satisfy everybody. I will even go as far as saying that Oda is gonna have a hard time even making the majority of the fandom be satisfied, simply because the fandom is too broken up on what they want.
We've been seeing the cracks for some time now, i think Whole Cake and Wano opened the first cracks and with the ending of Wano and the entire Egghead arc, these cracks are growing and becoming more noticeable. That's why many "alliances" are being broken and factions are becoming more isolated and combatitive, because now the story has less time, and many of those characters and factions are gonna have to start going at each other, and someone is coming out of top, while the rest are about to be jobbed.
One Piece has done a great job of using hype, silhouettes, mysteries and character reputations to build up insane hype and discussion on the series. But there's a drawback, now Oda has to put all the cards on the table and many fans won't be happy about it. After all, by making everything a mystery and "discussable", even powerscaling, each fan could imagine a future of the series they wanted to see, their favorite characters doing well and defeating others. Now everyone will have to come face to face with the ending Oda is gonna show and that isn't gonna go well for many.
