I want to understand why anybody ever expected differently. If you have a character and want them to have ANY relevancy at all? Better get comfortable with them either being the reincarnation or direct descendant of somebody important from the Old Gen / Void Century / First world.
Mind you, I think this is all super stupid. Like, people like
@Boiroy no offense but using Ryuma and Zoro as an example of him being related to somebody important and thus his achievements matter less I guess? Is just weird. As far as we know, there are upwards of several hundreds of years between them, Zoro trained more than any other character in the setting for his strength, and all other Shimotsuki descendants thus far are nothing to write home about.
But either way, if you really, DESPERATELY care for a character you like to be entirely unique with no reincarnation / family connection?
You better not care if said character is utterly irrelevant because chances are if they matter, they WILL have said connection to the past.
