Aside from the usual Sanji (and CoO) slander by Oda, I think there are some reasons why the SH don't "sense" Aramaki (and meet him) this chapter.

1. Letting Momo deal with it, to increase his confidence or authority

Maybe the SH respects Momo and wants him to build fame and credibility. This way Wano can truly be independent and can deal with their own affairs, not clinging to Luffy and co.

What wrong with this?

Admiral is peak tier combatant, if something goes wrong with the fight, Momo can be fatally wounded and that's bad. SH isn't that heartless.

2. To showcase that Momo+Scabbards can defend Wano

This way the SH can safely leave them for their next journey. Wano defending against an Admiral reassure this point.

What's wrong with this?

They can't even stall Kaido.

3. Showing us that Yamato is part of Wano/Scabbards, or will stay to defend Wano

Yamato realizing that Wano still have threats, and choose to defend Wano as Guardian Deity.

What's wrong with this?

From the start of Yamato's appearance, her dream is to set sail. One Piece is about freedom and accomplish your pursuit.

4. Momo will push Aramaki to Shanks

It's possible that Shanks appear just for chasing out Aramaki.

What's wrong with this?

Momo doesnt have the ability to push him there.

5. SH waits until some time later to sweep in together

It will be the usual case of allies getting overwhelmed and SH comes in to save the day.

What's wrong with this?

It means SH still need to babysit Wano. That's a bad showing for Japa.. i mean Wano.

6. SH didn't really notices Aramaki

Maybe the SH really don't get informed by the scout.

What's wrong with this?

Yamato is enjoying time with the SH. If she sensed Aramaki, Sanji should too.

Momo asking Yamato to stay out of the way, which means she shouldn't be informed in the first place.

Why they don’t notice:
1. Luffys probably too busy eating Meat
2. Zoros probably too busy drinking Sake
3. Sanjis probably too busy flirting with Girls
4. Jinbes not at the festival it seems
5. Usopp is probably too busy telling stories

And cmon we all know Yamato and Momo and the scabbards aren’t stopping Ryokugyu. Someone’s going to come in. The only person who shouldn’t come is Luffy himself.

Yamato didn’t necessarily notice Aramaki but rather noticed the Scabbards leaving somewhere or heard what they said.

Denjiro seems to have the best observation haki among the Scabbards

Interesting points but I don’t have any issues with this chapter. Also, 6 is likely related to the SHs being drunk.

Observation haki works if you are on guard. Right now most of the Straw Hats are enjoying themselfs. Need a reference ? go back to Fishman island. They have only noticed Caribou when Luffy asked where is Weakhoshi. That is the moment he sensed him and asked Zoro and Sanji to confirm.

Not everyone has a long range observation. The few scabbards who came here are the ones who can. And from the SH we are 100% know its Sanji who can but the dude is drooling somewhere.

I don't agree with this. We always give the same excuse of CoO not working because they did not concentrate BS, evven though they are top tiers who are always on guard except Sanji(due to repeated failures). The scabbards were able to detect so we don't need any kind of specialist in COO to sense them. The only reason is Oda did not want it to happen like always. That's all. If needed oda will make Luffy maybe appear after sometime.

Yes of course Oda didn't want that to happen which is why the story presented the idea of them not concentrating and the references here and there of an Observation user failing to detect/sense due to them losing focus. Plot Plot no mi at works here give Luffy meat Zoro Sake and Sanji women and yay gag way out.

They might still notice it. We have no idea how events will unfold. Just because Momo says he doesn't want to involve the SH's doesn't mean they won't potentially figure it out on their own. It could be the thing that draws Shanks to Luffy by accident.
