- Mihawk challenged all the powerful opponents until no one could challenge him, and he beat them all. He might have challenged Kaido or Big Mom. We don't know, but we know that Kaido lost seven times. That's a big number for a man who is believe to be the strongest creature in the world.
- Mihawk is not a yonko because he simply doesn't have a crew and large territories in the new world. Mihawk would not challenge Kaido alone. He will challenge him, the commenders, the F6, and all footsoldiers. Also, Mihawk is not even interested in becoming a yonko.
- Shanks used to be the only person Mihawk thought of as a real opponent, and Shanks has the potential to be the strongest character in One Piece. We don't know when Mihawk fought him, maybe he fought him when he was a yonko. And we don't even know who won.

This series sees it's primarily goal as becoming a pirate king.
Not world strongest swordsman. even EOS zoro is top tier easily yet he won't ever choose to became Pirate king becuz bro had his priorties straight. same goes with mihawk.
To this date Mihawk is Barely known as Warlord but as a threat of Marine hunter and zoro is being Called "Pirate Hunter" Zoro this late in the series.

-WSS title is literally confirmed so far above Yonko..that a yonko despite being Mihawks captain..doesn't get bounty as big as Mihawk.

Warlords are not a power tier, there is a clear disparity between their individual strength and Mihawk is by far the strongest among them. Mihawk wasn't a yonko because he didn't give a f**k, he only became a Warlord so people would leave him alone, and he only just now became a Yonko because the warlord system was abolished and people wouldn't leave him alone.
He is also the worlds greatest swordsman which is power based title, and "world's strongest" should give you some hint about his strength.
He is also future pirate king's right hand man's final opponent so him being anything bellow yonko level would be f*****g lame.
Seriosly I don't get why people are even trying to downplay him, do you want the story to suck so much? Are you even a fan of OP?
