Are you sure that he will appear? I get the feeling that he will not appear anymore 
It would be a shame if he doesn't appear
In the last few chapters these things happened
- Angel, Hoteye, Meldy and Midnight lost their battles
- Juvia safed Meldy and defeated Gate
- Elfman vs Gaia started
- Mirajane vs Daemon started
- Gajeel vs Zero started
- Team Natsu defeated F&F
- Ignias other elite team showed up
- The 5 dragons from the GMG arc (without Atlas Flame and Zirconis)
- All 5 returned in their human forms and are now stronger than 400 years agos.
- Elefseria returned too
- Now Faris defeated Bestia
- Possible chance that Acnologia will/can return too

Oh well, nice to see him return I guess lol. We got Dragon Force and thus one of the most epic moments of the series by far, especially in the anime thanks to him so I can't complain! Plus some villains did "return" in the final saga of the OG series thanks to Neinhart or w/e ofc?
Aye I'd be very disappointed if he came back, I'd rather have Zeref and August lmao.

She and Zeref appear in Natsu's "Beta Heaven" and are seen living peacefully with their son, August, suggesting they have found a state of afterlife where their curse no longer affects them, and they are no longer bound by the living world.
Mavis's State of Being in the 100 Years Quest
Given 100 Year Quest revolves around "Dragon Gods" and how popular Acnologia was, I'd be very surprised if Mashima didn't asspull a way for him to return somehow anyway! Somehow Palpalogia/Acnolatine returned! But hey, maybe we'll get to see an "Acno-Logia awakening" in Fairy Tail instead of One Piece, as Mashima will probably give us that instead of Frauda! And thus an actual awakened dragon too! Get Kaido into Fairy Tail, he might get treated better there LMAO! We already have the superior version of Shanks and Buggy's awakened DF too ofc!
One of these days I'll get into 100 Year Quest and stop being lazy lmao, it even has an anime so I can't afford to be lazy! I need to play the Fairy Tail games and Eden Zero one too, they look really good! I've not even seen/read EZ either too lmao.

If Acnologia will really return who knows, I doubt it or at least I hope he is not coming back. At least not as an enemy. We know what would happen if he returns.

His fight with Natsu back in the OS arc was a good one and one of my favorite battles.
Yep, Neinhart returned them, sadly for only 2 chapters or so and much weaker.
If he would make him a good villain with a good fight it would be cool if Acnologia returns but after the things that happened with the DG I am afraid that Acnologia will be turn into a clown

If he returns and Mashima will give him a good battle then I will be happy if not I will be disappointed.

I wonder if he really wants only to fight him. Imo he cares too much for him. He even gave him some choices to join him. Maybe this is his onee of his goals?
Imo Ignia is someone who isn't really evil and imo he will not be the final enemy, there are too many hints that he will be an ally later.
- he cares for Natsu in a way
- he doesn't really hate humans like the calamity bloods, he even gave them the chance to became dragons
- he even has a son with a human...
I believe either the 5 dragons will betray him later or the sun dragon, Elefseria or someone else will come and be the final villain.

Ignia just wants to fight Natsu and Restore Dragon Populations
Darth Faris i think Acnologia's power is having an influence on her making her this way but I don't think they ever revealed what exactly her goal is
