Shanks' haki is so clearly stronger than Mihawk's and it's constantly emphasized plus Gryphon > Yoru without the need of a swordsman skill to enchant the sword...

The same way Hassaikai is superior to Yoru despite not being a Supreme Grade weapon at all, just a regular Kanabo weilded by someone with stronger haki than fraudhawk
