General & Others Fishman Island is the best arc post time skip by far

#1
It’s not even debatable. What we got in Fishman Island:

1. Ancient weapon Poseidon
2. Prophecy of Luffy destroying Fishman Island
3. Introduction of Joy Boy.
4. Character development of Nami resolving her incident with Fishman.
5. Backstory of the slavery and racism of Fishman and Mermaids
6. Introduction of Big Mom (in hindsight it turned out to be terrible but at that moment it was good)
7. Celestial dragon backstory
8. Sea kings, the voice of all things.

after Fishman island , 10 years plus, we have gotten ZERO relevant information about anything other than some stupid name of an island being “laugh tale”. All we have been given is nonsense shenanigans.

Unfortunately no…. It gets bested by every post timeskip arc. Punk Hazzard is the one arc you could make an argument for but Thts about it.

We got even more in the past expecially when Garp introduced the yonko, that was post Enies Lobby.

Or when Luffy and the crew were "introduced" to Big Mom by Lola.

Pre ts: Skypeia, it captured the essence of one piece which was adventure

Post ts: Wano mainly because of Luffy v kaido

Worst arc, Orihime's flashback and the racism discussion is the only good part.

Hody Jones is the worst antagonist by far, also we have things like Sanji fainting for nosebleed(i hate this scene) and Shirahoshi is too annoying.

Well... I actually think it's the worst one. Dressing a list of things happening in the arc doesn't make your conclusion indisputable, because not only the quality of those ideas is entirely a subjective notion but the execution is too. Zou is still the best post timeskip arc for me.

Hody Jones was indeed crap however the chopper sanji scene actually made me laugh, and yes Shirahoshi was annoying. Despite all of that it is still the best arc post time skip since the plot surrounded itself with actual story lines that was central to the overall story of One Piece.

I listed my reasons and my reasons is quite evident that it is indeed the best arc. Every other arc post time skip has been 90% filler.

um no, that isn't how story telling works buddy. I didn't just "list things", instead "I listed things central to the overall story of One Piece". No other arc post time skip provides an information dump like Fishmen island. Every other arc is 90% filler. And it's obvious you don't know what the term "subjective" means, since I provided nothing "subjective". Also, Zou is the second best arc post time skip

I will say another positive thing about One Piece, Oda specifically, he can still draw really well lmao.
And how does that work exactly ? Something important happen and it makes that thing automatically good ? It just has to be central to the story ? Yeah, no, that is actually not how it works. I said the quality of an idea is subjective. You brought up the events of FI arc and decided on your own they were good, as well as the execution of them. If you think there’s nothing subjective there, maybe you’re the one who should look up the definition of the word.

Of course you’re free to consider FI the best arc post timeskip and there’s nothing wrong with that at all. But you can "buddy" me all you want, it’s still just your opinion. You shouldn’t come here thinking you can tell people how to think or analyze a story.

Lore wise it is one of the best, but the action and fights post punk hazard are way better!
Wano will turn out to be the best one of post time skip by this point!
I think peak One Piece will be Laught Tale arc!

FI was disaster

- Trash villains. Hody Jones, his goons and Van Der Decken were all trash. Nothing really memorable coming from Hody Jones aside from that "Why do you hate humans so much?" "Nothing" scene and how bad he is. Nothing memorable at all from his goons.
- Lack of tension. FI had been hyped several times since post TS yet FI is the one poor arc used to showcase training result of timeskip. The enemies felt very weak. The big bad Hody Jones was weaker than at least 3 guys from Straw Hats' side and on par with Sanji.
- Oda mentioned Fishman Karate Dojo several times but completely skipped it during FI arc. 2 places were highlighted pre TS: Fishman Dojo and Mermaid Cafe, and everybody knows which 1 is more interesting yet Oda chose to focus on the less interesting one.

If anything, best parts of the arc are: news about Akainu vs Aokiji and Blackbeard Pirates whooping remnant of Whitebeards' ass. And Big Mom hype with her Godlike entrance. But those 2 aren't tied with Fishman Island plot directly.

I mean I totally agree with you, but I was comparing Fishmen Island only to post time skip arcs and so far it is by far the best one. Which post time skip arc is better than Fishmen? Every post time skip arc outside of Fishmen ISland and Zou have been 90% filler. Wano is now 3+ years and 120 chapters and it is literally filled with nonstop filler. You rather be given "filler" or "trash villians but with actual plot lines that are central to the story"? I will easily chose the latter option.

Imo FI arc is the worst arc post timeskip, for the reasons stated above. So every other arcs are better.

PH is the second worst because it is the birth of Momo, Kinemon, Law tagging around until now. But Vergo was threatening, Law vs Smoker was cool and Monet was interesting.

How is Hody Jones have "actual plot lines central to story" anyway?

Iirc all he did is coup d'etat attempt, yet failed. Similar to what Doffy did to Dressrosa, except Doffy was already the King there by the time Straw Hats reached there while Hody was still trying and failed.

Hody is villain to Shirahoshi, a side character while Doffy is villain to Law, which is more important than Shirahoshi, and Dressrosa citizens which are as irrelevant as Shirahoshi.
