Facts
Once you point that out though a subset of fans will just find the prettiest stat pic of Mbappe goals and say "see, he's great for RM. It's clearly the rest of the team at fault".

This is all on Perez. He was obsessed with getting him even after Mbappe used RM's interest multiple times just to get a better contract at PSG (as he should have). RM before Mbappe were way more balanced. The thing they needed was a striker and an expereinced creative midfielder. Instead they're overloading the left wing like they're preparing for an electoral debate.

Things will only get worse too if Mourinho really comes back. Perez has gone soft and will not risk his major investment that he coveted for a decade (Mbappe) and Mourinho will lose the struggle for the locker room because:
a) today's players are thin skinned kids, majority of whom never had to stuggle to get here like the greats before (playing barefoot, working jobs at 10 etc)
b) the game has gone past Mourinho. He fails to adapt to today's pace and tactics and relies solely on raige bait.

Mbappé left PSG too late, he was faster before, got a bit lazy in PSG and wasted some of his best years

He should have gone to the RM 4 or 5 years ago, like in 2022 post World Cup

Well yeah, but it goes back to my point - RM was interested from the onset, but he used their interest to leverage better deals from PSG.

Which is a smart play and ofc he should have done that IF the goal was to just get rich. But imo he was naive there because RM would have financially backed him almost as well as PSG (ofc there are limits even with Perez).

Also PSG often times tailored the team to his needs, which made him stay longer because, well, he was the "king" there. Won a world cup, almost won another, won multiple league titles, scored lots of goals - he didn't have that much of a hunger to leave PSG.
