General & Others For those of you who think Luffy won't fight Akainu

#21
In Enies Lobby Luffy fought an opponent that was in the same position as Sanji's and Zoro's opponents, and was even a rival of Sanji's opponent, despite the big difference of douriki.

So if Luffy fights Akainu his opponent will be less equal to Sanji's and Zoro's opponents than in Enies Lobby, since Akainu is a fleet admiral.

You may have the impression that Akainu is not significantly stronger than the other admirals, but that's just because none of them went all out yet, nor exhibited some number to express their power levels yet, for you to be able to see with clarity how much stronger Akainu is than the other admirals, just like one couldn't know that Lucci was much stronger than Kaku just by judging how they were portrayed in Water Seven.
luccis doriki was like the combination of kaku and jabra

The reason why luffy won’t fight akainu is pretty simple, he is simply too strong. Akainu isn’t significantly stronger than the other admirals, doesn’t make sense for luffy to fight an opponent equal to sanj’s and zoro’s opponents. Sabo has the same reasons if not more to fight akainu.
Zoro or Sanji will never surpass Akainu. Akainu is a fucking monster he is arguably top 5

He would need 380 more points for his douriki to be the combination of Jabura's and Kaku's.
But yes, Lucci's douriki was much superior, so being in an equal position doesn't mean to be equally strong.

And since Akainu is the one who became the new fleet admiral, it's very likely that, just like Lucci, Akainu is much stronger than the other admirals.

So Luffy will fight Akainu, while Sanji and Zoro fight other admirals, and, like always, Luffy will suffer a lot more than the other two to beat his opponent, possibly even losing once or twice before finally beating Akainu in a third try.

Comparing their feats, Sanji is already by far much stronger than Akainu.
Akainu never showed anything even remotely comparable to Sanji's invisible speed, unbreakable body, super regeneration, and physical strength to make Queen fly to far away in the sky with Ifrit Jambe. Also, Sanji's blue fire with lightning is intrinsically much hotter than Akainu's magma.

So Akainu will need a massive powerup in order to have any business as Luffy's main opponent in a future arc.

This is not a question of whether or not Sanji will be able to surpass Akainu; Don't invert things.

The real question is whether or not Akainu will somehow be able to surpass Sanji in the future.

The dread is simply setting in for them. No one can pretend that they’ve never read a story before. They know it’s inevitable for the main character to face the antagonist who killed the person dearest to them…and it has them absolutely terrified for their powerscaling agendas.

Some would rather have an inferior product, rather have the conflict with the maximum emotion thrown out because they dare not acknowledge that a character is stronger than what they tried to diminish him to.
