Spoiler Four Lords of the warring states

#1
The Four Lords of the warring states were four aristocrats who stood out because of their tremendous military power and wealth, historical figures who were extremely important during this period. They would surround themselves with retainers of many various talents, all under the semblance of a 'house guest', somewhat comparable to Ryo Fui though he wasn't born into royalty. Throughout the story Hara has only given exposition on two of them and only one of them has made an actual appearance, they were:

Shin Ryou Kun of Wei
Shun Shin Kun of Chu
Moushoukun
Heigenkun

We know Gokei served Shin Ryou Kun but it's easy to miss this due to some of the earlier translations.

Shun Shin Kun has thankfully been given plenty of screentime and was also the last of them.

Moushoukun and Heigenkun had already passed away before the story began and Hara has unfortunately not given them any attention. Anyway, share your thoughts on this interesting concept that is based on actual history.

Shunshinkun has a bit of an interesting case surrounding him.

On one hand, he was able to see through Shouheikun's grand military strategy regarding Sanyou which threatened China as a whole.

It were only him and Riboku (the best military strategist in the land) who saw through this ploy, the other generals there had absolutely no idea of what was going on. One might then wonder if Shunshinkun could be a great strategist too. He also wanted to take control of Kanmei army when the man died, though Riboku immediately told him how stupid of an idea that would have been.

On the other hand, the difference between the potential of the previous Chu and the one now being crafted through the elevation of a military officer/skilled strategist to a great position of power are underlined.

Karin and Shunshinkun are very, very starkly contrasted with one another. Karin is a military officer to the bone and an exceptional strategist like Riboku. The aforemented speculation on Shunshinkun's military skill is completely shut down.

At the end of the day is clear that Hara wanted to portray Shunshinkun as a very intelligent character, whose 20 year work elevated Chu greatly. And who could be greatly perceptive to changes in the wind, like Shouheikun's strategy. He clearly had some level of military understanding. But obviously, he wasn't on the same path of the actual military men of the series.

I think Sunshinkun had a lot of "theoretical knowledge" about military affairs, but never really commanded troops or been in the battlefield himself, so he has no experience or practical knowledge. Karin, on the other hand, has both.

Yea they're Def. one of the big mysteries that intrigue me about the Kingdom-verse. The closest example we have to really see what sort of power they potentially had is Ryofui.

Gokei's main hype wasn't being part of 7 fire dragon. It was being the big dog of Shinryoukun, his #1 Vassal. It's also why Gokei had low experience, since he wouldn't be sent to battlefield at the same rate as the others due to his importance to Shinryoukun, akin to Ryo and SHK. In comparison you had somebody like Ryofui who also had the likes of SHK and Moubu under him.

We know their prowess rivaled that of the Kings of the actual states. Similar to Ryofui himself (bro had arguably more $$$ than the Qin royalty lol).

I think when we do get to their respective states we'll likely get their vassals coming out of retirement or some shit like that. Which could then be used to expand on them.

Can already see Hara introducing some of their vassals especially in Wei
This is Shinryoukun's most trusted warrior
They say he's strength rivals that of Gaimou
That is his oldest retainer, they say he was the man that taught Gokei strategy etc..
