What about Sarkozy? Is he in prison or has he reached some limit or simply not even his relatives can bear to see him?

Anyway, since aside from Macron and a few others I don't know nobody on that list, this to say I know basically nothing about french politics but at the same time I'm a little interested, people seemed not satisified by Macron (see yellow jackets) or am I wrong? And so what is the general trend for the next vote? I hope you will not put another extreme right genius in charge after USA gifted Trump to the world (or Jonhson for the UK or Bolsonaro for Brazil).

The two biggest candidates are :

Emmanuel Macron(LaRem ; centrist - liberal) & Marine Le Pen(Rassemblement national ; nationalism - national-conservatism)

The others :

Jean-Luc Mélenchon(La France Insoumise ; democratic socialism - left-wing populism)
Xavier Bertrand(No party ; social-conservatism)
Valérie Pécresse(Soyons Libres ; liberal-conservatism)

Yannick Jadot(EELV ; environmentalism)
Nicolas Dupont-Aignan(Debout La France ; Gaullism ; national-conservative)
François Asselineau(UPR ; nationalism - souverainism)
Fabien Roussel(PCF ; social-democracy - communism)
Nathalie Artaud(Lutte ouvrière ; Trotskyism - anti-capitalism)
Anne Hidalgo(Parti Socialiste ; social-democracy - social-liberalism)
Jean Lassalle(Résistons ; agrarianism - souverainism)
Florian Philippot(Les Patriotes ; Gaullism - nationalism)

Jean-Frédéric Poisson(La Voie du Peuple ; christian-democracy - conservatism)

Nicolas Sarkozy has some problems with justice for the moment but he could support Bertrand, Pécresse or Macron.

Rassemblement National is ideologically far-right but economically left. So they're bit different from the others political parties.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. Even if honestly I doubt Le Pen as an extreme right will make a left economy, maybe she promises she would do that. Has she, or her party, ever administered something important in France (like a big city or a province/large administrative area)? Sorry if I am bothering but since there is the thread I will try to satisfy my curiosity on this matter

Perpignan is the biggest city administered by her party.
Leon Gaultier, one of the founder of the party, was an ex-SS member. The party at it's beginning was neo-fascist. A lot of fascist parties were ideologically far-right but economically left. So it's one of the rare ideas that has remained from the beginning of the party. That's what she said to members of the party. If she wins the election, we'll know if she can do left economy.
